>>"Okay, Sandra you come with me," Sari stated. "Kate, Flynn ask around and
see if there are any friends of the dead girl around..."<<
Flynn stared at the body for a few moments, then looked up, noticing that
the Team had split up already.
He could see Sari and Sandra approaching the sherrif, but as he looked
around he found out that Eithne en Kate had already dissappeared. Flynn thought. He started to
walk to the nearest crowd.
Seeing his approach reflected by someones sunglasses, Flynn remembered the
day
that he was the one seeing people in suits coming towards him through the
crowd. Towards his parents...
His mother hysterically hold on to him, almost tearing his shirt, the one
he loved so much. The FBI-people approached his father, and began asking
questions. Flynn had never seen his father cry, until that day.. the day
that Tom died...
Now as he approached a boy, Flynn could see the same look in his eyes that
had been in his fathers. The look of terrible loss.
Flynn cleared his throat, and the boy startled then looked at him.
"Hi there. I'm Agent Flynn Woods with the FBI," Flynn flashed his badge
which still felt new to him at the boy then continued, "and I'd like to ask
you a few questions about the murdered girl."
"What?" the boy tried to look him straight in the eye but had trouble with
it.
"Are you willing to answer a few questions?" Flynn asked patiently for the
second time.
"Oh, yeah I think so." the boy turned to stare at the body again.
"Did you know her?" Flynn asked.
"Erika? Sure I knew her." the way the boy said it made Flynn think there
was more.
"And your name is?"
"Huh? Brian.. Brian Astman."
"Ok. Brian, where did you know Erika from?" Flynn began his questioning.
"She and I went to High School together." Brian started to say something
more, but stopped.
"Do you know of anyone who would want to hurt her?"
"No. They all loved Erika," the boy sounded bitter, "at least what they
thought Erika was like."
Flynn frowned "You sound as if you didn't like her."
Brian's eyes turned to him, as if to lash out. "-Like- her? I loved her."
"She broke up with you?" Flynn guessed, hearing the bitterness in his
voice.
"Yeah. That damned sorority. Everything changed when she joined -them-."
Brian didn't try to hide his anger.
"Oh, she was still very friendly and outgoing... but there were secrets
there now. She came to me one day, and told me it was over. I was shocked,
and angry," Brian's eyes had drifted for a moment, but now gazed into his,
"I didn't mean to hurt her that day."
"Hurt her?"
"I threw her on the ground, yelling at her, trying to explain to her that
she'd been brainwashed. By THEM!"
"Them being..?"
"The whole sorority. Those @##$ (censored)
brainwashed her. They made Erika brake up with me." Brain stated angrily.
"Did you see Erika today?" Flynn tried to speed Brian up.
"Yeah, I saw her. I pleaded with her to think things through. To get her to
realize she'd been brainwashed. But then that...Megan stopped me before I
could get through to her." Brian swallowed, his voice turning sad once
again.
"I left her around 10 am then I headed off towards the library, to study.
When I came out, a crowd was running in this direction. I asked someone
what was going on, and found out that there was another dead girl.."
Brian's voice cracked, "I didn't know it was Erika untill..." Brian started
to cry.
Flynn knew that sometimes crying was the best medicine...
