5:53 EDT, Delta Pi Sorority House
> "I wonder if she has that effect on everyone," Flynn said. They
> started walking toward the house.
> "Why don't you go find out," Kate said, somewhat apologetically. "See
> if you can get her away from the other girls."
Eithne stepped out of a hallway just as Flynn and Kate walked down it,
almost bumping into the two of them as she shook her head disgustedly,
annoyed at herself for allowing Jennifer to simply go off without
so much as the knowledge of where she could be found. She probably
~would~ have walked into the nearer of the two, had it not been for
Kate's voice jarring her out of her thoughts.
"Hi Eithne."
She glanced up. "Oh, hi. . . I'm sorry, I didn't even see you there!"
The two shrugged. "No big deal." replied Flynn, "Find anything
interesting?"
"A Jennifer Roberts, Delta Pi sorority member and finder of the
body, college student, and all-around terrified girl who spoke
of an omnious 'HIM'."
Kate's face took on a musing expression. "I wonder if your 'him'
is my Dr. Burrell."
"Dr. Burrell?"
"I'll explain a little later. . . She didn't happen to mention a
Megan, did she?"
"She didn't happen to mention ~anything~, actually. We spoke for a bit,
I went to get her a cup of tea, and she disappeared into thin air. I've
been wandering about for the past ten minutes trying to find her, I'd
just given up when I ran into the two of you. . ." As she stopped
speaking, she realized she'd retreated to an old habit of biting
pieces of skin out of her lip when she was annoyed at herself, and took
a tissue out of her pocket to take some of the blood out of her mouth.
"Did someone punch you or something?"
"Oh, no... I was just biting my lip. . . I would have liked to have been
able to talk to the girl a _lot_ more than I got the chance to, but I
suppose
we'll be able to find her. We've got a name, and how many Jennifer
Roberts
can there be in Delta Pi?"
Flynn nodded. "We'll find her later, talk to her in a time period
which isn't directly after she'd discovered a dead body. She was
probably in shock anyway."
Eithne paused, and furrowed her brow. "No. . . come to think of it,
she wasn't. Shock I would have expected, the way she was acting,
considering all of this. Seeing a dead body _should_ do that, I suppose,
especially if you're concerned that you're going to be the next one,
but she really wasn't exibiting any of the classic signs. . ." She
shrugged. "I don't know. Probably nothing."
Kate nodded slightly. "Now, whom I'd _really_ like to talk to is
Corinne or Tara, alone. And Megan."
As they went outside, the three brought each other up to date on
what had happened in their respective interviews, leaving everyone
with a few more pieces in the puzzle, and a few more puzzles to solve.
