BLACK BUILDING: Circle of Fire
>>"What now, Flynn?" The flames crept closer.
Flynn cursed, and reached inside his coat. He took out his cellular and handed it to Sharlyn. "Try and reach 911, I'm going to check something out!"
Sharlyn's eyes widened, "Don't worry, we're going to get out of this!" Flynn assured her.
{I hope} he thought to himself, as he scrambled to his feet, and frantically searched for a way out of this mess. He tried to envision the black building again. Hadn't there been an underground passage of some sort? He closed his eyes, and let his mind drift back to when they were inside.~It was almost ironic.~ But fact remained, they got out of the black building, and now...after all he'd been through, he wasn't going to let some fire get the best of him. When he saw the screenes wasn't there some way out? Wait! There some rabbits scrambled in front of him towards the west. He followed them for a few steps, then saw what they were running to. He cursed as he finally recognized the smell. Gasoline. He turned and ran towards Sharlyn.
Flynn raised the sleeve of his coat to his mouth, and covered it. He saw Sharlyn, still lying on the ground. "Any Luck?" Flynn yelled.
"There's no answer!" Sharlyn replied.
Flynn cursed again. "No answer?"
"C'Mon, we've got to get out!" Flynn yelled, and helped Sharlyn up.
"You found a way?" Sharlyn asked
"Maybe." and Flynn guided her towards the place where the Rabbits had run to.
Sharlyn began to cough, and seconds after that, the smoke was getting heavy on Flynn to. He cleared the smoke out of his lungs. "The fire is smallest at this point. If we cover ourselves with the coates, we can run through. If I'm not mistaken there's a little stream on the other side."
"If you're not mistaken!??" Sharlyn almost yelled panickily.
"It's our best shot!" Flynn replied.
Flynn dropped his coat on the ground and threw his tie in the fire. He then removed his shirt, and his vest. He offered his shirt to Sharlyn. "Wrap this around your arms!" He wrapped his vest around his own, then covered himself with his coat. From the corner of his eye, he saw Sharlyn doing the same. "GO!!" he yelled, and they ran through the fire.
The heat was overwhelming. There was nothing else... It blocked everything from Flynn's mind,... Pain! Heat! Then suddenly, they were out.., as soon as Flynn had taken three steps from the fire, he threw the coat off. The smoke was also very heavy on this side. Flynn coughed a few times, then heard someone else coughing as well. Sharlyn was two steps in front of him, still wearing a smouldering coat. Flynn quickened his run, and grabbed the hot coat. With the help of Sharlyn he managed to throw it on the ground.
It was still warm. There! the stream, Flynn managed a small smile as he ran towards it. He was still alive.
He dove into the stream, and when he reached topside again, he let out a yell of joy. "SEE THAT! I"M STILL ALIVE!!! HAHAHA" Flynn laughed heartily.

NEAR THE SITE OF THE BLACK BUILDING: the parked car
A wet Flynn and Sharlyn stepped into the car. They had made their journey towards it, in almost complete silence. The relief was still visible on both their faces, until Sharlyn frowned. "You smelled that back there?"
Flynn nodded. "Someone started that fire."
Sharlyn agreed. "It looks like someone has been trying to stop this team, ever since we started this mission."
"I know." Flynn said, "The plane, the black building, Newts suitcase, this mess."
"Whoever it is, if I ever get a chance, he's dead!" Sharlyn stated. Obviously still recovering from the shock.
"Let's get back, and change into something more...dry."
Back to mission logs.
