>"Do you think I'm reaching?", she threw out to the group.

>"A little . . ." Kate began to say as Moran walked back into the room.

"How do we know that the woman isn't lying?" Newt suggested.

"We don't." Kate said matter-of-factly.

Newt shook his head, "So we are investigating some girls pregnancy because she doesn't want anyone to know she's sexually active, so she blames it on some sterile rapist?"

"If it were just one girl," Kate began, "I would agree with you. But there were 15 reports rapes with supposedly sterile rapists, and several of these women are pregnant. And I might add, doing the math, the pregnancies could all be due to the rape."

"Expect that the rapist is sterile." Newt reiterated.

September shook her head, "Not necessarily." Newt looked at her as she continued. "All we know about the rapist is that there was an absence of sperm in the ejaculate found in the women, after the rapes. It could have been that the examiner just didn't find any."

Newt chuckled, "So this guy might have 'Super-sperm that doesn't hang around to be found?"

September shrugged, "Who knows."

Flynn nodded, "She's right, we're all making assumption based on lack of facts."

"And known reproductive biology," Newt added.

"When has biology ever been predictable?" Kate asked.

"I thought we weren't going to fly anymore," Newt complained in the back seat of the car as Kate searched for a place to park, after having paid way to much for the tiny space the car would be occupying.

"This is a 747 from DC to Miami." Flynn reminded him. "It's a -whole-nother ballgame."

"Yeah more people can die."

"None one is going to bomb a jumbo jet just to get us."

"Never say never," Newt grumbled as the car came to a halt.

"Well Newt," Kate said turning in her seat, "We've got to get you over this fear of flying somehow."

"I am not afraid to fly!" he protested, then weakly added, "I'm just afraid to die."

"All I can tell you is that we did a thorough examination of the young woman. She was not pregnant prior to the rape. And she had not had a period following the rape. All indications point to the fact that the rapist is the father of her child." Dr. Quinones told them.

"Except that the rapist was sterile .. I mean .." Newt corrected himself quickly, before one of his team mates could, "That there was no sperm found in the ejaculate, leading one to believe he was most likely sterile." He looked at the others who nodded at his correction.

The doctor nodded as well, "Yes, except for that fact."

"How do we know the young woman in question wasn't sexually active?"

"Well to be honest, before the rape, we don't know. But after .. well have any of you ever been raped? Believe me running out and jumping into bed with some else is not a common reaction."

"But it's possible?"

The Doctor shook her head, "I know the young woman in question, and no, I do not think it's possible."
