[Sunny Side Marina]

Kate pulled into the Marina parking lot early. The team still had about 15 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive. Kate and September got out of the car and stretched, working out the kinks in their muscles. Suddenly, September's phone began to ring. As she talked, Kate felt the need to go for a walk somewhere, anywhere. Her mind needed clearing and standing around waiting wasn't going to do her any good. She motioned to September that she was going to walk on one of the piers, presumably to admire some of the boats that were currently waiting in their slips.

She got halfway down the first pier when she suddenly heard a voice call out to her.

"Agent Calloway, you seem disturbed."

Turning to her left, she saw Docker leaning back in a speedboat, his feet propped on one side. "Whatever could be the matter?" he said, a smile on his lips. "It's such a sunshiny day here in Miami."

Kate just glared at Docker, who lay back with nary a care in the world. For one moment, she could see herself jumping aboard the boat and bringing Docker in for questioning. Another part of her just wanted him dead. And yet, for all of the trouble he had caused at World's End, he had helped them then, and he was helping them now.

"What's your angle, Docker?" Kate asked, in as composed a voice as she could muster. "Why are you helping us?"

"First things first," he said. He produced a phone from his pocket and dialed it. He passed it to Kate. It was ringing as she took it.

"Who am I calling."

The answer came over the phone line. [Training Director's office,] Suzanne answered. She sounded terribly upset.

For a moment, Kate couldn't say anything. She could only stare at Docker, feeling like she'd just choked on her own heart. "Suzanne," she finally managed to say. "This is Agent Calloway. Is.. is everything all right?"

[Oh, God. No. Um..]

"What's happened? Is it Josh?"

[Yes. He's been taken to St. Catherine's. They've stabilized his condition, but it's bad, Agent Calloway.]

"What happened," Kate repeated, more insistently.

[He was stabbed. He was in his office, and an agent, or someone posing as an agent, came in. It's being investigated.]

Kate had to force herself to start breathing again. "Let me know the second you know anything."

[Of course.]

Kate handed the phone back to Docker. "You son of a bitch," she muttered. "Was that your work? So help me God, if it was, I'm going to kill you."

"You wouldn't be the first to try, and you wouldn't be the last," Docker said. "Now will you shut up and listen? I had nothing to do with your boyfriend's condition. I just thought you ought to know. And believe me, if I knew who did it, I wouldn't be wasting my time here with you. I'd be taking care of the situation myself."

"What do you want, Docker?" Kate managed to keep her voice even.

Docker looked up at her from behind his sunglasses. "Oh, I don't know. Let's just say that we have a certain common dislike for Paul Moran. If you thought he was bad when you were married, he's even worse now."

"What do you know about Paul?" Kate hissed, sounding much angrier than she really felt. The anger had drained out of her by now. What she really wanted to do was collapse in a little heap and cry.

"I know he sent a hit squad after me after I killed half of his men in D.C. helping Bravo out of a tight situation." Docker said, a hint of sadness in his voice. "Unfortunately, I wasn't able to save everyone in Bravo."

"Calderon." Kate said softly.

"Yeah, Calderon." Docker said softly. "But enough about me, let's talk about you and this case. I assume you haven't let Moran in that you know about Immaculate Conception."

"Of course not. Not if he might be working against us." Kate snapped.

"Might be?" Docker laughed. "You still doubt that he's working against you? I would've thought that you would be more definite than that. After all, you know him better than anyone, or... at least you thought you did. You're wondering about your kid, aren't you?"

Kate turned away from Docker and stared out at the Atlantic, the calmness of the waters. Once it was all out in the open, it was hard for Kate to deny even to herself that that was what really was on her mind.

"Don't worry about it." Docker called out. "He's really your kid, yours and Moran both. Records show that some of your ova was harvested when you had that biopsy for the fibroid tumors that developed prior to your first birth. After your first kid, Moran had those eggs fertilized and put into him. He waited for the prescribed time before getting you pregnant again, this time with your 2nd child."

Kate felt a wash of relief crash over her, not that she would show it on the outside to Docker. "How do you know this?" she asked, "Why should I believe you?"

Docker sighed and pointed to the backpack that lay by Kate's feet. "In there are the medical records and the tests run during Immaculate Conception. It's as much as I could save before the records were purged from the University's computer."

September came up from behind Kate with her gun drawn. "What University?"

"Agent Foster, how nice of you to join us." Docker said, holding his hands in the air in mock surrender. "The University of Miami was where the tests were run and where most of the records were kept, that is, until Delta was assigned to this case."

Kate looked through the files from within the backpack. "The files are incomplete. It only lists 4 names, the picture showed 5."

"That's right, and besides Paul, the other 3 people are dead. Victims of mysterious accidents." Docker said, as he got up to untie the rope that held the speedboat to the dock. "Oh yeah, you really should give up looking for the rapist and concentrate more on his next victim. He will strike again... and if I'm right, it will be tonight. There is a method to this man's madness."

Docker started up the speedboat and slowly backed it out of its slip. Kate and September turned to see Newt watching them. Soon after, Sharlyn and Flynn pulled into the Marina parking lot next to where Kate had parked. As they walked up the pier, she noticed the suspicion written on Newt's expression. If the situation were reversed, she would probably be suspicious also.
