[Leanna's apartment - A tidiness mission doomed to failure]
Leanna Henrikson's eyes followed the sluggish screen movement as she sat playing her all-time favourite game. "One little Sectoid, sitting in the barn.... one little Sectoid sitting in the barn.... and when Henrikson fires the rocket launcher, he isn't there no more.... and there'll be no more Sectoid, and not a lot of barn...." she murmered as the computer tried to keep up with her.
Her alter-ego Henrikson was out of rockets. Time to ditch the launcher and whip out that pistol suited especially to those close encounters of the deadly kind.... as she moved on, she found another alien; or rather, it found her and decided to take a pot shot at her. She fired back, but the shot missed by inches.
Ah, that was it for Henrikson this turn. Leanna moved the rest of her rookie troops into position, covering all the angles in a text-book formation before ending turn.
An alien grenade sailed through the air, landing in the midst of the XCom soldiers. Several other aliens took their turns as Leanna sweated the outcome. Then the screen blurred and shifted as the explosion took centre stage.
Her entire team was dead. Mission failed. Again. The phone rang as she contemplated re-loading this one.
"Henrikson?" she answered, brushing her hair out of her eyes.
"Yes sir. I'll be there right away," she replied, trying to keep her tone neutral.
"Understood. Thank-you, sir." She hung up the phone and shrugged. They had a new assignment for her, not long after she'd jetted back from Scotland. And she wasn't exactly in shape, but well....
She stepped out with a faint smile beginning to take hold.
[At DELTA's office - Leanna gets to meet some of the team]
She knocked before turning the door handle, switching her laptop case to her free hand awkwardly.... "Hello, I'm Agent Henrikson, am I.... I am in the right place-" she started nervously. There were two agents here, and they didn't really seem to know her. *Well who would, when you're stuck behind a computer for the most part....* She flashed her badge slowly, just to reassure them that she wasn't some lost soul from the world outside.
"I'm being assigned to team DELTA, or so I'm led to believe," she added.
