Chrono Trigger's Cast of Characters
Crono
Crono is the main character as you begin your quest. He is a skilled swordsman, and can equip one of the most powerful weapons in the game- a Rainbow sword.
Crono has some of the best Techs in the game. He uses very powerful sword Tech and attacking Magic, and he can use other Techs in combination with various characters.Above all, though, are his powerful Lighting Attacks, including Luminaire.
Marle
Marle is actually Princess Nadia of Guardia Castle. She grows impatient with royal life and eventually leaves to help Crono. She is good with a crossbow, and will attain some powerful weapons over the course of the game.
Marle's Magic is very powerful. Her healing powers are some of the most powerful, and can be essential to your success.
Lucca
Lucca is Crono's best friend. She loves science and uses her knowledge to build fantastic machines and very clever weapons. She can equip a handgun, which proves to be a very powerful weapon.
Lucca has some very powerful Fire attacks, which prove most deadly as double techs, especially when she is paired with Crono and Marle.
Frog
Frog is Cyrus's best friend, who used to be named Glenn. He was beaten very badly by Magus and Ozzie and turned into a frog. He is an accomplished swordsman who could teach Crono a thing or two. He will later be equipped with the Masamune, the most powerful sword in the game.
Frog knows healing Magic as well as water Magic, and is effective against many of his enemies.
Robo
You find Robo in a collapsed dome in 2300 A.D. He is very powerful and skilled with electric weapons.
Robo, being a robot, has no magic whatsoever. However, Spekkio catagorizes him as Shadow because of his laser attacks. When he joins Crono and Frog, their Triple Tech is incredibly effective.
Ayla
Ayla is primitive but strong. She is trying to save her group from the reptites. She can break huge stones with a punch or a kick. With her strength, she doesn't need to use magic. Once she reaches a level in the 80's, she equippes herself with the Iron Fist, a very powerful weapon.
Ayla has no Magic but her strength is unstoppable. Her best tech is stealing items, especially from some bosses.
Magus
Magus will join your party after a specific sequence of events has unfolded. Magus used to be a young Mystic boy named Janus, living during the Dark Ages. Magus uses a sickle to fight.
Magus can use Shadow magic, which also includes the second level fire, lighting, and water magic. Later in the game, He has the most powerful Magic attacks, second only to Lavos himself. Magus, unfortunately is very antisocial, and thus has no double or triple techs, except for when colored rocks are equipped.
Epoch
The Epoch is a time machine that was designed by Belthasar during the Dark ages. You get it in the future.
