THE GOOSE TAIL TALE

Both Lem and Dan told the Webmaster this story:

When Eli Winesett and his family lived in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Eli owned a hotel. There was a park with a pond across the street from the hotel. Lem was a toddler at the time.

Lem was in the romper stage. His rompers had a tailgate which could be let down to use the toilet. Lem's older brothers and sisters took delight in taking Lem to the park which was populated with white geese. The older children would let Lem's romper tailgate down. They would then feed crackers to the geese. When the crackers were gone, the older children would run off and leave Lem behind. The geese not finding any more crackers would peck or nip his bare bottom bringing shrieks and screams from Lem.
