Robert's 2001 Christmas

Christmas in Germany

Heidelberg Castles

Left-Central Stuttgart and Right - View from Alex's balcony

Grandpa Robert had a wonderful time with his son and his family in Mannheim, Germany. We had dinner twice with Zorica's parents and her brother, his wife and children. They were all very nice and we had a good time although one had to forget about any diet. The food was plentiful and tasty.

Each morning Zorica would buy fresh rolls, cheesebread and other wonderful breads along with various sausages for breakfast. Grandpa and Christina would watch TV while eating breakfast. I noted that many American toys were advertised although they now spoke German. The mornings were brisk and Grandpa envoyed his walks up and down the streets and shopping areas of Mannheim. The open air market was full of fresh vegtables, fruits and flowers.

We visited several scenic castles in and around Heidelberg. We drove to Stuttgart and enjoyed shopping and the old building of central Stuttgart.

Grandpa and Tiffany had fun making snowmen in the park across from the apartment and in front of the old water tower.
