Prelude
to Scene 6 Richie enters the Spinning Wheel Hotel, with a chance of meeting Jack Ryan, who he thinks might be his father. He encounters a resident Joe Scandlin in the hallway. Richie asks about Jack Ryan, but Joe never heard of him. Richie leaves his card with Joe in case he hears anything about Jack Ryan. Joe is being pressured by Mrs. Gustavson's henchman, "Clinch" to pay back money that was lost at his gaming table. Joe gets the idea to con Richie for the money, by pretending to be Jack Ryan. |
