The Thor's Hammer Episode
Category: Heart Break
Now
while this is not really much of a 'Daniel sprains his ankle' episode, we do get to watch
our young hero going through the heights of hope and the pits of heart break when he sees
a plausible way of returning Sha're to him, freed from the Goa'uld, Ammonet, that
possesses her, only to be the one that destroys the very one thing that might save her.
But
we also see that Jack doesn't like him very much (big meany!!) as he makes DANIEL
basically choose between saving Teal'c now or keeping the Hammer functioning to save
Sha're in the future. (Err... not to mention keep that world safe, Jack!)
So, Jack hands Daniel Teal'c's Staff weapon, fully aware that the guy
must be going through inner torment, having to chose between his friend and his wife....
Daniel looks over at Teal'c who is willing to remain there if it means that Sha're
may one day be restored using the very thing that is keeping him captive there.
So Daniel has to make the decision..... will he.. wont
he....??? How hard would that have been for the poor guy? I still don't
understand why Jack chose Daniel to do it. Was it to show the guy that life moves on
and that he has to realise that the 'team' comes first, and that Teal'c is valued higher
than Sha're?? Hmmm I wonder....
I
wouldn't have thought Jack would have thought like that, to be honest..... so I still
don't know why he chose Daniel over Sam, who was also out there... maybe the
decision to save Teal'c had to be Daniel's??
Perhaps he had to accept the destruction of the Hammer.. or else live forever with
undisclosed feelings towards the person who took his chance of freeing Sha're from him..
Still.. it would have been a very hard decision ... not only to make.. but to live with...
Again, Sha're has slipped through his fingers.... poor Danny...
