Of the Illuminati, Starring in...
Go in Peace

<
Once more the scene is reconstructed into the light. However, this time we are met with a sight of pure majesty. An infinite series of pin point lights greet us as we gaze into the curtain of the night sky. Our point of view shifts from the never ending series of celestial fusion generators as the camera levels off and we begin to rationalize within our collective minds the locale of what we are now witnessing. The figure of Doc Placebo can be seen. No longer dressed in just his white suit he has now donned upon a black trench coat which allows him to meld with the nightscape. Only the abscene of stars allow us to bear witness to his form as he stands tall atop a rooftop gazing upwards.

Doc Placebo
"Is she coming?"

"Yes sir, just a little while longer now."

The guards that had accompanied Placebo just recently stalk forward out of the darkness behind him in response to his query. Paying them little mind he takes a tentative step forward. His toes are now perched on the very edge of the building's roof.

Doc Placebo
"She's going to miss it."

He stands at the edge of the building looking downward for a moment and is reminded of the many gargoyles which stand a silent vigil over the gothic cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, France. Thinking of Paris brings his mind to his neighboring homeland of Andorra but a shooting star summons his attention back to the splendor of the here and now.

Doc Placebo
"It's amazing to be out here at night... looking at the stars like this."

Guard
"Yes sir."

Doc Placebo
"We can learn a lot from them. Whenever I stand here I am reminded that wherever we are our past is with us especially in the present."

Doc Placebo
"Those stars setting ablaze our night sky? That light has been traveling far longer than our lifetimes to get here so that we may enjoy it now... some of those stars may not even exist any longer."

Doc Placebo
"But..."

The Doctor pauses for a moment while he, a man many hold to be a living God, observes the heavens above.

Doc Placebo
"...But... sometimes we try to shine on beyond our time. One of my opponents I fear has already supernovae like a lifeless star."

"ALREADY? You've only just got back into NEW!"

The Andorran wrestler does not acknowledge Erica's arrival with anything more than a nod. His eyes remain glued to the heavens while he remains stalwart; balanced in position awaiting some unknown future happening.

Erica
"Who is it?"

Ignoring her query and proceeding on his own line of narrative...

Doc Placebo
"You almost missed it."

Taking a few steps closer to the Doctor Erica comes into view of our perspective. As had Placebo before her she too opted for heavier garments prior to entering the twilight chill of fall. Previously where we could see far more of her our eyes are now denied the sight of her smooth flesh which is hidden under a thick winter jacket, gloves, a hat, and a pair of black leather boots.

Erica
"AH!"

Doc Placebo
"There they are."

Several stories below the rooftop standing couple a flood of people of all shapes, ages, and walks of life have begun to bellow into the streets. These people; business men & women, teenagers donning their ipods, a lover who is feverishly texting her lover overseas as she walks, and many more are all pouring out of within the very building which the Omega Sin and his enchantress are towering atop.

Erica
"This was always you're favorite part."

Doc Placebo
"Absolutely... it's a beautiful thing to see them leave after hearing my teachings, taking them out with them into the world, and then see them return for the next sermon eager to hear just a smidgen of truth; faithful."

Erica
"And I thought you just liked my dress."

THIS time Placebo did steal his eyes away from the movements of his sheep towards Erica's direction. He never really did understand how his infatuation with her had grown, at first she was but a mere Minion. Addicted to mind altering drugs, apathetic, and without a will to call hers, she resisted it. She managed to recreate a new identity for herself on top of the one that had been erased by years of anguish. Just as Placebo himself did not have any knowledge of his real name neither does Erica. They both simply named themselves and started anew.

Doc Placebo
"Always."

Returning his gaze to the devout as they make their way back to their daily lives the Doctor addresses Erica's question.

Doc Placebo
"Imperius."

Erica
"I'm sorry?"

Doc Placebo
"Imperius, he is the competitor I have marked as weak."

Doc Placebo
"Last week the Prophet Cosmos and I made an example of him, I fully expected an outcry from the man, a call for vengeance..."

Erica
"But that didn't happen..."

Doc Placebo
"No not at all... he's weak. No one in this business should take a beating like that and just take it without taking action."

Doc Placebo
"And my opponents have had plenty of time to make themselves heard but remain silent... if they are like that fool Imperius..."

Erica
"If their like him then it's already in the bag!"

Doc Placebo
"True... but it's almost a waste of time."

Falling silent the Doctor observes as the last few stragglers of his devout followers depart his hallowed halls and fade into the shadow of the twilight. For a split second he stays there in the moment, enjoying it, tasting the frost starting to tease his skin while his nose and ears go cold. With a lungful of fresh air chilling his lungs the wrestler turns from the precarious edge and begins walking in the direction of his Guards who have abstained from conversation since Erica's entrance.

Doc Placebo
"Come now, I do have a match this Sunday, we don't want to catch cold."

Erica
"Imperius might have a chance then..."

Doc Placebo
"...might."

As the final nonchalant exchange is completed the scene begins to dissolve as a guarded Placebo and Erica enter the structure which houses the Doctor's vintage theater turned cathedral leaving us in the cold. After the couple has entered the structure via a large oak door our eye into their world is removed and all of creation supernovas into the darkest shadow of black minus the stars.
