Sean Combs a.k.a. Puff Daddy is the man of the 90's. Sean was born on November 4th, 1970 in Harlem New York, where he then was raised. Puffy has always lived a difficult life. Sean and his sister Keisha were raised by their mother Janice. His father, a New York hustler, was shot and killed when puff was only three years old. To this day the pain still haunts him. Sean didn't find out how his dad died until he was 13, when he was at a local library and stumbled upon the article in an old newspaper. He was devastated. As a kid Puff was always a money getter, whether it was sneaking an extra paper route, or whatever, he was always thinking. After graduating from "Mount St. Michaels" all boys high school in the Bronx Sean went on to attend Howard University, where he was a party promoter. This is where Sean recieved his world famous nick-name. Combs was a small skinny kid on the football team, he puffed out his chest to make himself look more intimidating....then evolved the name "Puffy". Sean dropped out of University after about a year and a half because he felt it was holding back. He went on to be an intern at Uptown/MCA records, but he was later fired for unknown reasons. Combs, being the optimistic person he is, saw this as a opportunity and a learning experience. After leaving Uptown Sean began to put together his ideas for Bad Boy Entertainment, and over the years they became reality. Sean has two sons, the oldest at age 5 is Justin Combs. Puff has a soul food restuarant in Manhattan named after his first son. The other, born on April 1, 1998, is Christian Casey Combs. Puffy describes himself as a "workaholic", he spends about 20 hours a day at work, and gets very little sleep. While Sean isn't working he just likes to relax, or spend time at his beach house in the Hamptons. Although it sounds like Combs is living a great life, all that glitters isn't gold. Sean's best friend and hip-hop mogoul, the Notorious B.I.G.,was fatally shot after a party that the two had attended in LA. Puff was there at the time of the shooting, (he was in the car ahead of Biggie's) he heard the shots ring out and immediately ran to Biggie's car...it didn't look good. After getting B.I.G. to the hospital he was rushed to surgery. The doctor came out a while later and spread the bad news, everyone there just fell to there knees and broke down crying. This is now one of the most tragic moments in hip-hop history. When that was over Puff was going to give up his dream, he felt he couldn't go on without his right-hand-man. It took a little while, but Puff realized he had to go on in B.I.G.'s memory. Puffy finished his half done album, and changed the name from "Hell Up In Harlem" to "No Way Out" (which sold over 6 million copies) because that best described the way he was feeling, he felt there was no way out... Biggie would have wanted Bad Boy to continue. Then Puff Daddy and the rest of the Bad Boy family took center stage on the first No Way Out tour. It was a huge success, bringing together all different races and ages. Everyone was just out to have a good time, and that is exactly what they did. This concert was the second biggest concert this year, next to the Rolling Stones', and it was a rap concert! Although Biggie wasn't there in person, he was defiantly there in spirit, Sean did a good job of making sure of that Puffy's second album which is still untitled is slated For an August release.
