When I heard that Nick Cage will be the next movie Superman I had to cringe. In my humble opinion, only Christopher Reeve had the right body and attitude to protray the Man of Steel. Just take a look at Superman and Superman II to see what I mean.
Superman must cut a heroic figure, and I doubt if Cage will be able to do this. Broad shoulders on a masculine, muscular physique that is not the result of a padded uniform. Clear blue eyes and the famous curl on his forehead. But even more there is the ability to protray a comic book charactor without campiness or silliness of any kind. To speak of the American Way without a trace of either cardboard stiffness or any cynical humor. In other words, acting ability. I think Christopher Reeve had this, and I hope Cage does. By the way I deeply regret Reeve's accident and congradulate his courage and determination to make his remaining life meaningful
