Note: For the most part, only vessels seen in the movies will be considered "canon." Exceptions include the Victory Star Destroyer classes, the two superlaser-equipped Super Star Destroyer classes, and the Interdictor Cruiser, all of which seem to be universally accepted as true Star Wars material. The Death Star, its successor the Death Star II, the Sun Crusher, and possibly others are not included because they are not considered starships in the usual sense.

In addition, this database will disregard the changes to vehicle specifications made by the LucasArts space combat simulation, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. Not only should the LucasArts games not be considered canon due to conflicting data, but, for reasons unknown, this game doubled the accepted lengths of several ships, as well as changed more minor details.
