Me and My New Truck, (Or desperately trying to be Butch) 5/9/01

I am about to wrap up a few days of vacation and they did me good -

1. Travel

2. (I learned a little) Dreamweaver

3. YES! I got my 2001 Toyota Tacoma!

I know, it's cheap but golly, I feel so happy with it. Having a truck is like getting to heaven, I don't know...am I a sicko or something? There is something about trucks that can give me the freedom to pack up things and move pronto and me being single, I can literally bring my house in my truck wherever I go. I guess I am getting more Americanized.

Buying a truck is another story - but I've got ten years of American life with me.

I wanted the cheapest price and the lowest interest rate I could get and darn, I got it. The whole experience was exhausting though - but fascinating. I wanted only two brands - either Nissan or Toyota. Ford was out of the question, being cheap that I am. The moment I test-driven the Nissan 4X4, I knew I'm in the mood for this shit.

I went to the dealer and lines like "Today, you'd go home in your new truck!" came like tsunami to me.

I said, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, you said the same thing to me last December 2000. And I never went home with a truck."

The dealer said, "Ooooh you diiiiid, how coooooome?"

Oh fuck already!

"Man, your interest rate was worse than the interest rate given me the last time I came to US direct from the boat."

"Today, it's better. New management. New salespeople. New financing."

Allan Greenspan also cut down the interest rate. Majorly!

To cut the story short, either I got shortchanged or they got shortchanged. My trade-in was really bad anyway.

And look, look. I feel singing Fred Astaire's Heaven, I'm in heaven. I can now drive through floods, awright?

I am showing my truck off to my very few readers. Can't help it, I am a true blooded Kapampangan J .

Say YES if you wanna truck!
