6X20 His Way
Plot: Odo gets tips from a '60s louge lizard hologram to win
over Kira.
Ugh! This is horrible! This was a piece of crap, not only because of the horrible sitcom nature of the episode that tried to be funny and cute but failed, but because of the way it rapes the characters. The Odo-Kira friendship was always a dark and complicated one; just look at "Necessary Evil" for the best case. But in this episode Odo is reduced to a love-struck idiot, and Kira is mindless bimbo! In the tradition of Dax&Worf, DS9 reduces their characters to one demensional characters for the sake of a romance. And Vic Fontaine was cute for about five seconds. Worst moment of all: after "tickling the ivorys", Odo says "Cool!". Gave me nightmares.
6X21 The Reckoning
6X22 Valiant
6X23 Profit and Lace
Plot: Grand Nagus Zek & Moogie flee to DS9 after starting
a rebellion on Ferenginar. Grand Nagus Brunt pursues them where Quark
must cross-dress and convince an industrialist the wonders of women's rights.
Well; either you like Ferengi episodes or hate them. I like them, because of their radically different and hilarious culture. They're comedy, but they're not blatant sitcom (unlike His Way...). I laughed like hell the first time I saw it! The only stupid joke was when the industrialist was chasing Quark around his quarters. That was dumb. The funniest bit was Rom's curious femininity. And plus, it carried an interesting idea, explaining women's equality in business terms. You double your market, double your buyers, double your workforce...woah!
6X24 Time's Orphan
Plot: O'Brien's daughter falls into a time portal and returns a savage
teenager.
Not much to say about it aside from it being horrible. The time travel premise was stupid! At the end, I was actually thinking they would kill Molly, which would have given the episode a lot more weight, but NO they go for the traditional happy ending. The Worf-Dax and Odo-Kira baby subplot was pretty bad too.
6X25 The Sound of Her Voice
Plot: The Defiant goes to rescue a stranded female captain.
Quark manipulates Odo's romance with Kira.
This episode was pretty decent until the end. The refurbished Defiant sets were beautiful, and the conversations Sisko, Bashir and O'Brien have with the captain are pretty interesting. The subplot is cute, what's best is Jake *appearing* and following Quark to learn about villiany. But the twist ending using time travel YET again really ruined the episode. Just let her die! And the funeral at the end was horrible and blatant foreshadowing for Dax's death next episode. O'Brien talking about one of us may not be here anymore, and we go right to Dax! C'mon!
6X26 Tears of the Prophets
Plot: Sisko leads the invasion of Cardassia against the Prophet's wishes.
Dukat assults the station and strikes a horrible blow to Sisko and Bajor.
The biggest dissapointment in an episode I've ever seen! It was horrible, considering what I was expecting! First of all, half the episode is crap-ass fluff! Odo and Kira have an "argument", Dax&Worf decide to have a baby, c'mon! The only good scene in the first half was the Allies war meeting, showing Martock arguing with the Romulans. This was an interesting scene that made the episode feel *important* but unfortunately it was the only one. Adm. Ross suddenly making Sisko decide between Starfleet and the Prophets was ridiculous and trite! The actual battle was very impressive but no where near "Sacrifice of Angels". Worst of all, this battle had no feeling of importance like "Call to Arms" or "Sacrifice of Angels". It was a shell of a great episode. Dax's death was horribly trite as well- she happens in on Dukat and he shoots her?! C'mon! And Garak appeared in the episode to say about two lines! When I first heard the rumors and the guest-list, I figured Dax would lead the invasion and it gets massacred. That would have been a wonderful death for her! In any event, I love where the series is now. A defeated Sisko on Earth, Kira in charge of DS9, the war re-starting, the Prophets and the wormhole gone, Dax dead... In essence I like where the episode led us but not how.
