AUTHORS NOTE: THIS TAKES PLACE AFTER BUFFY LEAVES SUNNYDALE.
Part Two
Buffy stood before her house. It loomed above her like an enemy and she could have sworn she should slay it.
Her heart raced with fear, but finally she mustered up the courage to open the door. Quietly she stepped inside.
Voices were coming from the kitchen. Suddenly someone emerged. They stopped dead in their tracks when they saw Buffy.
"Buffy?!" Xander asked. "You're back!" He ran to her and embraced her in his arms. "We were so worried."
Buffy smiled, "How is everyone?"
"Why don't you see for yourself." he replied as he pulled her into the kitchen.
Willow was holding Oz's hand as he whispered something in her ear that made her smile.
Giles was standing near the microwave muttering something about too many buttons.
Joyce was on the phone talking about something important, judging from the look on her face.
Cordy was flipping through a magazine. She looked up when Xander walked in. "Hey Xand---" she stopped and stared at Buffy, apparently in shock. "Guys..." she managed, then nudged Willow, "Hello, look and observe!"
Willow glanced over at Cordy, "What?"
Oz pointed over at Buffy, "I think she means that."
Willow followed Oz's finger and gasped, "Omigod."
Xander smiled, "Hey everyone, check it out."
Joyce glanced over at Xander. "That's nice Xander...." her voice trailed off when her eyes fell upon Buffy. She dropped the phone and embraced her daughter. "Oh my God!! Buffy, I thought... You're okay!!!"
Buffy held her mom with tears in her eyes. "I missed you so much Mom, and Dad too." She whispered.
Her mom suddenly stepped back, "Oh yeah, your father, he's on the phone." Joyce picked up the receiver and handed it to Buffy.
Buffy's hand shook as she pressed the phone to her ear. "Dad... It's me, Buffy."
Willow smiled as she watched her friend talk to her father. Finally, after twenty minutes, she got to hug her best friend.
"I missed you." Giles said, stepping forward.
"I missed you too." Buffy replied as she embraced him. "And you." she said as she hugged Oz. "And even you." she laughed as she hugged Cordy.
"Why did you leave?" Willow asked, "What happened? Were you with Angel?"
Buffy's smile faded. "No..." she whispered. "Angel's gone." she said slowly. "He's in hell..." a tear slipped down her cheek. "But not Angelus, Angel." Buffy's heart broke again, like it always did when she thought about Angel. "My Angel."
Xander looked down at his feet.
"Oh, God." Cordy said, "Buffy, I'm so sorry."
"Me too." Willow said, "I should have done the curse faster."
Buffy's head snapped up, "I had no idea you were trying the curse again."
Willow's eyes grew wide and she looked over at Xander.
Xander's eyes pleaded with hers. "Please." he mouthed, hoping against hope that she wouldn't say anything to Buffy.
Willow looked down at her hands, "I'm sorry Buffy."
Lyndsee stepped off of the bus terminal and looked around.
"Lyndsee!!!!" Her Aunt's voice called above the crowd.
"Aunt Marie!" Lyndsee smiled. She quickly picked up her bags and followed her Aunt to the car.
"I'm so sorry about your parents." Aunt Marie said sadly, but then brightened her smile. "But you'll love Sunnydale, I promise."
Lyndsee had a feeling that she wouldn't.
Lyndsee kicked the vamp to the ground. She whipped out a stake and smiled.
"You'll be seeing hell soon. Have fun!!!" she said as she staked the vamp. She heard someone gasp from behind her. Lyndsee turned around to face a girl about 16 or 17.
"Who are you?" the girl asked.
Lyndsee's mouth dropped open. Then suddenly she took off running.
"No, wait!!!" she could hear the girl calling after her, but that only made her run faster.
"I just want to know who you are!!" Buffy called after the mystery girl. "Damn it." she muttered. Who was that girl? And why was she doing my job? Buffy thought herself.
She had to find out.
