Wizards First Rule Review
|
Well what can I say...This is by far one of the best books that has ever blessed the shelves with it's presence. It has an absolutly amazing plot, characters that will make you laugh and cry...or punch a wall in anger, and it's not too hard to understand.
Plot twists, foreshadowing, growth of characters, and even poetry make this great book even more enjoyable. And talk about intense, this is the first book that ever gave me the chills. It kept me so hooked that I'd find myself reading a couple hundred pages in a day, sometimes taking six or seven hours because I had to pause a few times to catch my breath. Ignoring chores, work, and even more so, people... I'd immerse my self in the world of Richard and Kahlan, and if I had the chance, I wouldn't come back.
One thing that kept me there were the emotions. You'd love some characters...and some you'd love to send to the deepest pits of hell. I was nearly moved to tears by some of the tragedies that were forced on the characters.
It's still not flawless though...it's a little predictable at times, but nothing is really spoiled. The villians are the typical bad guy type...you know...that I am great, take over the world, blow up everything complex, although not to the point that it gets annoying.
This given, WFR's still a great novel. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. Careful though, your bound to get hooked.
