July 27, 2000. KEITH'S VIEW: A rather sparsely attended show on a Thursday night. Since we were the only name that people in Milwaukee were familiar with, most of the people that DID show up were "our people." Quisling did their usual thing. We played next -- a rough n' tumble affair. Debuted our cover of Alice Cooper's "Is it My Body?". We were often told to turn down by the owner of the venue. We pretended to turn down and continued. I was later accused of busting a microphone and/or a microphone cable by the hired gun soundman. Maybe I should start bringing my own microphone and cables! The bands that played in the middle were from out of state. They were electronic-oriented and a bit long-winded. Some of their stuff was okay. They pissed off some people in the audience with their onstage banter. Meanwhile, Katzenmallets, fearing that they wouldn't get a chance to play since the show was supposed to end by 1 a.m., set up their gear alongside the stage and started playing immediately following the electro-snooze. Katzenmallets was the highlight of the night, for sure.
