Magic:

* Note: Midhei is the most powerful and perhaps the most versatile of all the magic-users in SkyHaven. These are _not_ in any way shape or form the normal magical powers of the SkyHaveners, although many are definitely extremely powerful.

Sending: She is incredibly powerful with this magic. Like other extremely powerful and malevolent senders(Winnowill, Door), Midhei is capable of lying in her sends. She can also spy in on private sends with great ease. The Mistress of SkyHaven begins to approach the skill of a High One (but the ability to know another's soulname is still beyond her).

Astral Projection: This firstborn is able to send out her spirit with ease. Theoretically, Midhei can contact any elf on the world of Two Moons, even without the aid of the throne.

Black Sending: Midhei is an extremely competent Blacksender. She can kill easily with this ability and also cause any number of mental pains.

Binding: Midhei seems to have a developed a frightening magic that perhaps is unique to her alone. The Mistress of SkyHaven is able to, through a combat of wills, seal the spirit of another elf into an object. This is how Midhei has trapped master Jylekk in the palace stone, and it is possible that there may be other elfin spirits trapped around SkyHaven because of this power of hers. A Spirit that has been bound cannot communicate in any way, and mercifully, is not really conscious either. It can be commanded by Midhei to work magic.

Healing: Midhei has the potential to be one of the, if not the greatest, healer on the World of Two Moons. But she has given most of this gift up for it's darker side...

Anti-Healing: Midhei is an astonishingly powerful Anti-Healer because of the fact that most of her Healer's energies are focused on this Art. Like the great healer that can emit waves of healing force, Midhei is able to emit waves of painful anti-healing, so touch is not required for this power.

Fleshshaping: Midhei is a master fleshshaper, capable of shaping flesh with minimal damage and heightened speed. Because of her skill even her crippled healer's powers are enough to get a patient of hers through the shaping process.

Ice-shaping: The supposed origin of her nickname "Winter Queen," Midhei's ability to shape and create ice is in fact, like anti-healing to healing, the reversing of an inborn fire-starting magic. She has forsaken all of her firestarting ability for her ability to lower the temperature of just about anything, freezing certain things quickly if not instantly. Like Fountain who can create water from moisture in the air, Midhei can create ice from ambient moisture in the air. Because of this she has been known to produce sculptures of ice(extreme skill and beauty)on sweltering days, and has even been known to lend her abilities when on those unusually hot days. She is so strong with this magic that her very presence has been known to cause a tangible chill. It is not uncommon for Midhei to form shields of ice around herself, or generate and propel great icicles through the air at offenders.

Hypnosis: She is an extremely skilled hypnotist. Hardly any can resist her paralyzing gaze.

Levitation: Midhei revels in the use of this power, and very rarely does she ever set foot on the ground. She can keep her weight in the air for hours on end, and can fly at speeds to overcome a startled deer. Midhei can halt arrows in mid-air, and act completely unheard of, and is capable of wresting control from an elf already in flight. The greatest weight she has ever supported was the weight of SkyHaven itself, but even Midhei felt the strain of this and had to call upon the help of her throne.

Rockshaping: Midhei is a mediocre rockshaper, never truly pursuing this art to it’s fullest. Her skill with this power is concentrated mainly in the shaping of crystal and other glassy things.

Mundane Skills:

Leadership: Midhei is a skilled and experienced leader. Despite her dark nature this first-born is an excellent ruler of her people, and support for this mysterious half-healer is great.

Elf Lore: The Mistress is extremely knowledgable when it comes to her heritage and the history of the elves.

Dark Mentor: Midhei is a very capable teacher of the darker magical arts. Any who are drawn to the black side of elfin nature can come to her for instruction in their magic.

Stealthy: Midhei is quite skilled when it comes to stealth, although she has not had to call upon these abilities for millennia.

Alchemy: Through use of foreign ground herbs gathered by the Celestial Elite and by some gathered in the gardens, Midhei is capable of creating powerful tinctures that can serve a variety of uses- from healing to poisoning to hallucinations.

Healing: Because it has cost her much of her natural healing power to become what she is today, Midhei has learned to heal others through mundane and non-magical means. She is skilled in the uses of herbs and such.

Build: Extremely slender and delicate.

Complexion: Soft and flawless- pearl white.

Eyes: Long-lashed and frosty blue-gray(mostly gray). Sometimes turn to pale violet or green.

Noticeable Features: Cold Beauty; Queenly and intimidating Presence

Clothing:

Midhei wears a long gown with deep, dipping sleeves. A fanned collar frames her face and is lined with silver satin, and the garment's shoulders end in curving upward points. The material is pure white in color and is embroidered with silver thread, giving her the nickname "The Winter Queen." She wears a five-pointed crown of shaped platinum, set with a stone of palace crystal at each apex. The central stone contain's master Jylekk's trapped spirit.

Artifacts: Midhei owns many magic-augmenting artifacts. Her most famous is probably the "Midhei's Crown." This is a five-pointed platinum tiara, with marble-sized orbs of palace crystal set into the apex of each. The central orb contains the bound soul of Master Jylekk, though .no one. at all knows this. This is a very powerful artifact, despite the surprisingly small amount of crystal in it. Almost all of her clothes have ornate patterns embroidered onto their surface, cast in threads of spun palace crystal. Midhei also has access to the Throne of SkyHaven, the most powerful artifact in all of SkyHaven.

History:

Midhei was born to two High Ones, their names now forgotten, over eleven thousand turns ago. From her birth, the elders could sense great power within the pale child, and so her tutelage in the magical arts of the elves was started despite the weakness so many of the High Ones were afflicted with. Soon the young Firstborn grew into her potent Healing magics, easing the pains of her companions and saving many lives despite her youth.

Midhei grew up as sheltered as possible, and eventually came to resent the safe and easy ways. So, because of this boredom and rebellion, the young healer jumped at the chance to be a part of the team that would bring back the palace crystals. During the trip, Midhei found that her powers would be needed more than ever. One instance of this was when she and Fehsu,a member of her party, were attacked by an enormous snow-bear. The young healer, because of her frosty coloring, was able to collapse in the snow and be forgotten by the vicious animal. But Fehsu, who possessed dark raven locks and wore reds, found himself to be the brunt of the attack. In the end the rest of the party arrived and slew the snow-bear, and Midhei hurried to heal Fehsu. By merely touching him, the pale healer knew that her skills would be surpassed, but she attempted anyway. During the healing trance Midhei happened to glance into the eyes of her patient- suddenly the remarkable happened! The two had recognized, and soon Midhei found herself calling upon great reserves of power to heal Fehsu seamlessly.

From that point on Midhei was addressed as Healer, and soon after the group returned to their kinsfolk the young firstborn gave birth to a daughter- Deva. Deva was a darling baby who burbled and floated as easily as she breathed. Tragically, before her fifth turn, Deva and Fehsu both lost their lives. Back in those days, you see, the world of Two Moons had not even begun to accept the magic of the elves, and SkyHaven was plagued by storms and poor weather for a long time due to the powerful magics that constantly ebbed around the place. During a lightning storm, Fehsu, Midhei, and Deva were nearly alone in the gardens. Suddenly a bolt of SkyFire struck the crystal ceiling and caused it to collapse. Many branches fell from the great broad trees within. Deva, who was still not strong enough in her floating magics to propel herself very quickly through the air, would have been crushed under a falling log if not for her father who flung his body over her form in hopes of protecting her. Fehsu was immediately killed, and Deva was slowly suffocating from the weight of the heavy branch and her dead feather. The child had no breath and could not cry out for help- she was even too dazed to complete the feeble sending that would have roused her mother, for Midhei herself had been struck by a falling stone and had lost consciousness. When she awoke, she found that both of her loved ones had died, and subsequently the beautiful healer went mad with grief.

Midhei disappeared that night. It is presumed that she escaped through the great jagged hole in the dome of the garden. She was gone for perhaps eight eights of turns, and when she reappeared Midhei had nearly mastered all of her mysterious powers- even bringing new ones with her. Soon her plans to wrest the throne from Master Jylekk were realized, and she began her rule over SkyHaven.

Personality:

Midhei has an icy, emotionless temperament. If ever she does show some type of feeling it is usually anger, and that happens at only the most extreme times. The causes for this icy, impenetrable wall about her are unknown to almost everyone. She is, as stated above, a competent leader, and can be charismatic if she needs to be.
