In this 90's update of the classic TV series that aired from 1965-68, we find ourselves once again following the Robinsons on their maiden voyage into space. And once again, trouble is not far behind, namely in the form of the somewhat devious, somewhat comical Dr.Smith (Gary Oldman).

After Dr.Smith hijacks the ship, the space family--along with pilot Major Don West (Matt LeBlanc)-- wake up to find themselves drifting off course and in the clutches of a maniacal reprogrammed robot. Even though Will (Jack Johnson) manages to subdue the robot, the trouble is not over. The Robinsons soon find themselves caught up in an assortment of adventures. Veteran fans may be surprised by Penny's metamorphosis from an innocent space girl to a rebellious 90's punk, but will be not be disappointed by the movie's fair preservation of the other characters. Dick Tufeld reprises his role as the original voice of the robot. William Hurt as Dr.Robinson, Mimi Rogers as Mrs. Robinson, Heather Graham as Judy, and Lacey Chabert as Penny. Contains mild innuendo and a few explosions.
