Profile: With all the skill of Tesla and the dementia of Dr. Frankenstein, Backstab is the secret weapon of the Decepticon cause, a cackling mad scientist who looks at the universe as nothing so much as a vast resource for his often deranged experiments. From these usually unwilling test subjects, Backstab can fashion almost anything necessary to the Decepticon cause; for this reason alone is he allowed to not only continue in his gruesome experiments, but he is also given a level of power second only to Tentacus himself, sometimes "recruiting" even other Decepticons for his  twisted needs. He looks upon Earth and its human population with a particularly covetous eye, his fingers sometimes visibly twitching in anticipation of the glorious experiments he could perform there. Ironically, in this regard he truly differs from his human-hating kin; trust a mad scientist to be the only Decepticon to actually find value in the human race, even if only as a vast renewable resource of test subjects.   
Abilities: In jet mode, Backstab has a top speed of Mach 2.5 and, with the addition of an external booster pack, is capable of transatmospheric flight. He uses a variety of missiles in this mode, usually of his own construction & tailored to fit his needs of the moment. In robot mode, he is armed with a scrambler beam capable of disrupting the flow of data from his target's CPU, effectively paralysing him; he often uses this weapon as a way to immobilize his test subjects as well as a weapon. In addition, he carries a number of laser scalpels, scanners, and welding implements on his person. His deadliest weapon, however, is his mind; he can take whatever materials are available and fashion them into nearly anything he can imagine, from power generators to weapons.  

Weaknesses: Backstab's mind is his greatest weapon; it's also his most exploitable weakness. He has almost no attention span outside of his experiments and is easily sidetracked, sometimes to the point of abandoning his comrades entirely at crucial moments. Also, due to the sheer quantity of information it processes, his CPU is more prone to breakdowns than any other Decepticon's, sometimes leaving him staring slackjawed into space with lubricant trickling down his chin for days before anyone gets up enough nerve to enter his lab to check on him.
