| Profile: Making up one half of the "Brothers Grim," a sort of Decepticon "tag team" with his fraternal twin, Dread, Dire sees himself as the enforcer of the duo, employing any number of brutal and often excessive techniques to get his way. Indeed, if it weren't for his somber, brooding nature, he probably could be heard cackling with glee as he drives his alloy fists through his opponents; as it stands, the last thing they normally see is a tight-lipped grin of pleasure, the only visible emotion Dire has been recorded as displaying. Other than this, he shows an uncommon level of loyalty towards Dread, but this seems less because of any affection for his twin and more because of the knowledge that together they form Grimwing, and, as Grimwing, he can inflict even more damage upon their foes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Abilities: Dire's fists and forearms are coated with a dense polymer alloy coating which makes them harder than diamond; in addition, his forearms contain hydraulic pistons which are able to release, upon impact, a concussive force roughly equivalent to 100,000 pounds/cm2. Combined, this enables Dire to rend all but the strongest materials within a matter of seconds. In addition, he carries a wrist-mounted plasma cutter. Weaknesses: Dire's forearms and fists are near-invulnerable; the internal and attached components, however, aren't, and the colossal forces he releases upon each impact make them prone to frequent breakdowns. |
