Dread

Function: Decepticon Warrior

Quote: "Fear is far sweeter than energon."
Profile:  Making up one half of the "Brothers Grim," a sort of Decepticon "tag team" with his fraternal twin, Dire, Dread  fancies himself the more sophisticated of the duo, relying less upon brute force and more upon intimidation and threat. A member of the "upper class" of Cybertron before the war, Dread often comes across as, at best, a degenerate Gothic nobleman and, at worst, a late-night horror show host, revelling in the sense of power his unique abilities grant him over others. A curious thing to note is that, despite his nihilistic streak, he is fiercely loyal and protective of his brother, Dire. This is a decidedly uncharacteristic trait for a Decepticon warrior to have, and it is something their mentor, Decepticon Inquisitor Tentacus, has been trying to train out of this otherwise near perfect protege'.
Abilities:  In robot form, Dread possesses a sophisticated electromagnetic scrambler array connected to his voice modulator, attuned not to his opponents' sensors, but rather to their internal tactical analyzers. Utilizing this ability triggers an intense impulse to retreat within his target, the robotic counterpart to fear, which he can manipulate to whatever means he deems necessary. In addition, he also wields a laser rifle, which he fires with pinpoint accuracy, able to hit a hexnut at 1000 yards. In jet mode, he can attain speeds of up to Mach 3 with a range of 100,000 miles. Dread combines with Dire to form the warrior Grimwing.

Weaknesses:  As is almost expected of someone so enamored with fear, Dread is an abject coward, often hiding behind Dire or even other Decepticons in battle.
