The rebels had a variety of vehicles available to them. Although they owned millions of credits in equipment, they still were extremely outmatched by the Empire. Here are some of the vehicles they used.
The X-Wing fighter is the primary starfighter the Rebellion used. It is a well rounded fighter with good speed, maneuverability, and a decent amount of firepower. It has four laser cannons on the wings, and can carry missiles, or a small load of torpedoes.
The Y-Wing fighter is a heavily armed ship. It can carry large loads of torpedoes and missiles. It is also equipped with an ion cannon on the top of the cockpit which disables electrical systems of the ship it hits. All this firepower is a detrement to the speed and maneuverablity of the ship. The is a bombing run ship. If an enemy ship get's on it's tail, it will need a miracle to escape.
The A-Wing fighter is usually used as a scout ship. It is very very fast and maneuverable, but it only carries two laser cannons and a few missiles. Despite it's lack of firepower, it is still an excellent dogfighting ship, since it can easily stay on the tail of it's target.
The Corellian Corvette or Blockade Runner is an excellent small capital starship. It can take a huge beating for a small ship. It is also very helpful to the alliance because it is difficult to tell a rebel corvette from a privately owned corvette, since they are used heavily for transport. They carry several escape pods and two turbolaser turrets.
The T-47 snowspeeder is an excellent atmospheric combat craft. It fights best at low altitudes. It can make sharp turns and carries front laser cannons and an optional rear laser cannon and harpoon launcher. These craft were used by the rebelion to defend themselves when the empire attacked their base on Hoth.
Perhaps one of the most crucial ships to the rebel alliance was Han Solo's Millenium Falcon. This is a heavily modified stock light freighter. It is so filled with jerry rigged gadgets, sensors, and flight modification devices that it needs repairs almost every time it lands. The work Solo put into it paid off for the alliance. This ship has incredible speed and maneuverablilty for a freighter. Its subspace speed is enough to keep tie pilots concentrating and its hyperspace speed it practically unmatched in the galaxy. It has powerful quad laser cannons mounted on the dorsal and ventral sides of the ship which can be opperated by gunners, or fired (less accurately) from the cockpit. It has extremely powerful deflector shields that can hold off a lot of fire for a long period of time, unlike normal starfighter shields, which can only take a few hits before they weaken.
