Following first contact with the alien colonists in the late 1940s, this group conspired to prepare mankind for alien servitude. The Syndicate collaborated with the alien host to abduct innocent civilians in order to obtain genetic information necessary to engineer an alien-human hybrid capable of serving as a slave race. Unbeknownst to the colonists, the Syndicate attempted to buy time to create a vaccine against the alien black oil, known as "purity". Unfortunately, with the discovery that Cassandra Spender was the first true alien-human hybrid, the Syndicate ran out of time and was forced to meet with the colonists to turn over their genetic discovery and prepare for the alien arrival.
