In response to a distress signal, Commander Chakotay lands his shuttlecraft
on a planet's surface but is viciously attacked. He's swiftly rescued by a colony of formerly assimilated Borg
and goes to extreme measures when he allows their resident physician, Dr. Riley Frazier, to heal his neural injuries
by linking him to a remnant of the Borg Collective consciousness. Meanwhile,
after Janeway and her crew find a suspicious Borg ship disabled and adrift in space with a
thousand members of the powerful Borg race lying dead aboard it, they transport one of the
corpses to Sickbay so the Doctor and Kes can perform an autopsy.
Here is another hard episode to rate. On the one hand
it's exciting to see the Borg again, on the other it's a very mismashed story that leaves you feeling most unsatisfied.
Yes,it is intriguing to see another side to the Borg, even if they are only half-Borg. They get even more threatening
with this new "good" side to them. And yes, it is nice to see a Borg cube again and it's nothing wrong
with Beltrams acting. Then why doesn't it take off? It's all as grey as the pre-Borg's new home. This episode leaves
too may stones unturned. Why is Chakotay so suddenly and easily infatuated with this pre-Borg woman? She is in
no way trustworthy. It's just not convincing. What did the Doctor find out more about the Borg? The technology
side is left much too unexplored. Frustrating. Not to mention that they kill off another poor crewman, are there
any left? As soon as we get to know a crewmember somewhat and they get something to say-kill 'em. Irritating. A
muddled rating of 6.5/10

To improve his performance as the ship's physician, the Doctor undertakes
a personality
enhancement project on the Holodeck, incorporating several accomplished historical figures' traits and temperaments
into his Starfleet database. But he also adopts several aberrant character traits from those non-fictional figures
and is soon overtaken by a dangerous, cruel Mister Hyde-like personality.
Sigh. What is this mess? A teenage Kes, a Dr Jekyll and
Mr Hyde doc, a lovesick alien .... It's not a good combination. So Kes has broke up with Neelix, I thought that
was a mere sideeffect of her Mr Hyde personality in Warlord. If this is the fact, then why havn't they dealt with
this in the previous episodes? No comments from Neelix? Nothing?? Most unbeliavable and bad drama. So apparently
they want to get rid off Kes? Then why don't do it in style instead of in this manner, It's an insult to Jennifer
Lien's acting. If they are trying to make her more "attractive" (tight dress) then they should write
some good stories to match her acting instead. Then again if they want to get rid of her, then why try to make
her "attractive"? Extremely upsetting! Kes is a great character, but have been left far too underdeveloped
by the writers. She is too good for the show simply. Let's get cheesy instead, that's what the people want-Is that
Star Trek? I thought we had gone beyond that? But I guess we have to face the fact that we are far beyond the enlightened
24th century. Enough raving. As for this episode, it did get better towards the end and it did make me want to
see the outcome of this story after all. Janeway and the Doc tutoring Kes was good also. Besides that why is everyone
getting so lovesick on Voyager lately?? Must be some space anomaly. Rating 5.5/10.
