History of Donna Troy
During the 12th year after the creation of the Princess Diana of Themyscira, came an uneasiness within the Princess. For many hours, the ancient Amazon Magala watched the young Princess undergo her Amazon training. The gifts from the gods made Diana the most powerful among the Amazons.
In spite of all the powers, the love from her mother the Queen, and the love of her Amazon sisters, Diana still had an emptiness within her. Magala asked the Princess what was wrong during a summer day. Diana admitted that she was lonely. She wanted someone to play with. Magala had a way to honor this request through magic.
Magala showed Diana a beautiful piece of glass that only showed her reflection inspite of its mirror-like form. Magala had woven a spell to recreate a duplicate of Diana. As Diana walked away from the mirror by instruction of Magala, the image followed her. Donna Troy, in essence, was born. Diana was surprised that the new form was not a reverse image of her as it looked in the glass. Magala explained that the nature of the spell was not a reflection
, but a separation of the Princess's life at a moment in time...dissected in two. Now it lived independantly and given a life of its own.
Days and weeks went by as Diana and her 'avatar' played with each other as Magala looked on. Diana adored this duplicate. She even had her go to class when she decided to play on the island. The creation of the duplicate remained a secret to all the other Amazons, even the Queen.
Six months later, evil would came to Paradise Island. Dark Angel, from the World War II era,
came to kidnap the young Princess Diana from her mother as a form of punishment. Both Dark Angel and Wonder Woman (Queen Hippolyta during World War II) were in constant battle during World War II for both the Allies and Axis powers. Instead of the Princess, the duplicate was taken. She was forced to live out different lives of different women in extremely painful relationships by Dark Angel. The amount of lives that the duplicate assumed is not known. Upon her disappearance, Queen Hippolyta raced to her daughter's chambers. She instincitively knew something was wrong. Upon entering young Diana's chambers, she discovered her daughter reading, nothing was wrong. The Queen instructed her soldiers to cover Paradise Island in a search for anything unusual. They found nothing.
Princess Diana searched out Magala in hopes of finding her duplicate. Magala admitted that she had not seen the duplicate in almost 10 days. Magala told the young Princess that the spell must have disappated. Diana asked if she could re-initiate the spell, but Magala advised against it. So Diana grew up alone from that point on.
Dark Angel made the duplicate assume the life of Donna Troy. Thus, making her a major figure in the DC Universe. Here is her story:

Donna's mother, Dorothy Hinckly, became incurably ill soon after Donna's birth and took her daughter to Willowbrook Orphanage, where she left her in the care of Elmira Cassiday, the director. Several months later, Dorothy died.
The infant donna was adopted by Carl and Fay Stacey, and all was well for two years until Carl died in an auto accident. William Harrilson, an attorney who worked for the orphanage and ran a black-market child-selling operation on the side, convinced Fay to return Donna to the orphange.
Harrilson was plotting to sell Donna, unbeknownst to the orphanage authorites. While waiting for the deal to come through, a fire broke out in the apartment in which Donna was being held. Harrilson's accomplices perished in the fire, but Donna was saved.
Whereas Donna though she had been saved by a fireman, she was actually rescued by Rhea, Goddess of the Earth and harves.
Rhea was a Titan of Myth charged with the mission of saving unwanted or endangered childern in order to give them to the planet New Chronus, where she was raised with eleven other children from across the galaxy. Each child was given ectraordinary powers and instructed in the arts and combat. They were referred to as the "Seeds" and were fated to someday become gods.
At the age of thirteen, Donna was returned to Earth, to the United States specifically, her memory of New Chronus wiped out. Unbeknownst to herself, Donna's new purpose was to learn about her homeworld's culture and, when fully matured, return to New Chronus and assume godhood. In place of these memories, Donna believed she had been saved by a fireman after which she grew up in the Kanigher Orphanage and went to a nearby elementary school.
Once Donna returned from new Chronus, or, as she believed, finished grade school, Donna read about the defeat of Mr. Twister
at the hands of Robin, Aqualad and Kid Flash. She made a costume based on the American flag, named herself Wonder Girl, and joined the young heroes. A residual memory prompted her to suggest "The Titans" as a name for their teenage group.
Donna dated Speedy after he joined the group full-time, but Donna also swooned over any handsome male that the Titans encountered, especially rock stars. During the latter days of the first Teen Titans, Donna's teenybopper demeanor disappeared. Her relationship with Speedy and a new apartment made Donna a more human character. Gone also were the golden eagle on red tunic, blue star-spangled shorts and ponytail. Donna designed a sleeker outfit of red and decorated it with a line of stars. With her hair let down, she became the new Wonder Girl who still lacked knowledge of her past.
When Raven brought the New Teen Titans together, Donna had already established a solid career as a fashion photographer. Socially, she had been dating divorced college professor Terry Long. Whtn the group formed, she found herself liking the idea on a new Titan team, so she stayed on. Starfire became a good friend of hers, especially since they also worked together in their civilian identities, as fashion photographer and model.
Before Donna was to marry Terry Long, she enlisted the help of Dick Grayson, one of her closest friends, to help find out about her past. Dick discovered the details of Donna's infancy, and Donna and Terry were eventually married on the Dayton Estate.
During this period, the Crisis on Infinite Earths placed both Donna and the Titans in a fight for their Earth's very survival. Following the ending of the Crisis, all memory of it was vanquished from each of the Titan's minds.
When Dick shed his Robin identity and began searching for himself, he handed over leadership of the New Teen Titans to Donna. It was a rough term, but Donna pulled through it and kept the supergroup going.

Much to Donna's relief, Dick returned as Nightwing and resumed leadership after Brother Blood's influence was lifted from his mind.
A wedding and many adventures later, Phoebe, Goddess of the Moon and a member of the Titans of Myth came to Earth to find Donna. Phoebe showed Donna that her memories of the times spanning from who rescued her from the fire as an infant to when she first donned a costume as Wonder Girl were false. Donna's true background became known to her.
Donna and the New Titans went to New Chronus, home of the Titans of Myth.

After resolving a crisis involving other Titan-trained "Seeds," she was given a new costume. To reflect the new knowledge of her origins and to honor the Titans of Myth, she changed her name to Troia
Terra, J. (1990). The New Titans Sourcebook. Niles, Il. Mayfair Games Inc.
Following the creation of Troia, Donna Troy returned to active duty with the New Titans
. After many years of trying, Wonder Woman and Troia finally meet. The constant comparison between Wonder Girl and Wonder Woman finally could be finished. The two mighty women had met.
The Wilderbeast returned to reek havoc amongst all the New Titans by forcing a traitor admist the team. Jericho would be that traitor, but later down the road he would be discovered. The Royal Flush Gang returned to battle the New Titans. Troia began to use her God-given abilities (force shield, projection of light, and super strength) to fight this new threat.
The hardest mission of her life came with Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, and herself overseeing security of a Jewish holocaust rememberance parade.
A villian by the name of Red Panzer, who embodied Hitler's rage for dominance, brought his battle to the parade. Captain Marvel was the muscle behind the fight. Wonder Woman helped with the Red Panzer's rioters. Donna dealt with the Red Panzer himself. By throwing Wonder Woman's magic lasso around him, Donna hoped that the Red Panzer would see the error of his mind. As stated by Troia, while she tried to capture the Red Panzer with the lasso, "The Red Panzer was beyond such purity, living with a mind so distorted and warped that the only world he could imagine was the one envisioned by Adolf Hitler himself." As the battle raged between the two, the Red Panzer seeked shelter deep inside his battle tank.
With a tremendous yank of the lasso, Troia attempted to dislodge the villian from his safe haven as Captain Marvel looked on. Troia ripped the top of the portale off the tank and glared inside. The Red Panzer, shorting wires surrounding him, stated "You've just brought about...the end of your life...and of everyone in this damnable march!" The Red Panzer had a bomb that contained enough sarin (an experimental biological weapon) to kill everyone in a half-mile radius. He activated the bomb as Troia looked on. Immediately, Troia barked orders instructing Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel to vacate all the civilians from the area. Troia hoped to contain the blast with her force shield. She pleaded with the Red Panzer to turn the detonator off as she formed a force shielf around him in a last ditch effort to see his humanity that she believed was there. As he looked on, the Red Panzer described the power of hate, "People feed off it. They're empowered by it. So long as it exists, so shall we exist..so shall I exist." With a "Damn you" forced outward by her inner self, Troia screamed to Rhea to help her contain the blast. The force shields held. Donna, still shocked from the events that had just transpired, laid and cried. She could not understand why he was filled with hate. This would be a question she would never have answered.
Terry Long loses his job at the University shortly after this adventure. He doesn't finish his work so he could get tenure. Because of this, Terry decides to write a book about mythology.
Donna Troy played an important role in the War of the Gods storyline. She was the link between both the Roman and Greek patheon. She was taken by force and became a physical link due to both her Greek ancestory and her relationship to the Titans of Myth. Troia was instrumental in the defeat of Circe with the help of Wonder Woman. The War of the Gods had some serious effects on the Earth because Olympus was brought too close to it. Serious flooding and earthquakes ensued. Panic of the private citizens was also a major threat.
When Circe was defeated, the Gods ended their battle and returned to their own dimension.
Armageddon Inferno began shortly after the War of the Gods ended (this time period happened outside of time. Donna was in-between crossroads in her future. Waverider chose Donna at this period of time to help him). Waverider, a time-stream elemental (first seen in Armageddon 2001), was disturbed by differences in the time field. He realized that the demon Abraxis was being summoned by a cult of 12 atop a mountian. This new threat would destroy the Earth. Moreover, the Earth would become a wasteland. Waverider chose heroes for different time periods to help him defeat this menace. Troia was one of the heroes. She fought alongside Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Flash II, Power Girl, and Superman (this team is the strongest of the DC Heroes. Troia was included in this team-up). This team finally did defeat a portion of Abraxis.
Following the War of the Gods
, Donna and Terry went to Greece to study the ruins. While on this vacation, Donna becomes pregnant. However, she doesn't realize it till later in the year. Upon returning from Greece, the duo look over onto Titan's island to see the Tower destroyed. Immediately, Donna flies from the taxi as Terry runs to the railing. She flies to the island to view the total devistation.
She realizes that the Wilderbeasts have finally defeated the Titans. Donna joins forces with Panthra, Arella (Raven's mother), Deathstroke, and Phantasm to free the captured Titans. In the process, they realized that Jericho was possessed. Both Arella and Danny Chase (who is Phantasm) give their live to destroy the evil of Jericho's possession. The Titans have finally defeated the Wilderbeasts.
The strain and depression of the battle unsettles the Titan's foundation. Nightwing snaps on Deathstroke. Starfire is confinded to a wheelchair. A baby genetic Wilderbeast is taken in by the team. This situation leads into the next turning point in the Titans lives: Total Chaos.
Donna began to have severe cramping in her stomach. The announcment of her pregnancy soon became public. However, her baby was developing at an incredible rate. Of course, Terry started to worry the worst.
During this time, a Titan "Team" from the future returns to the past (early 1990's) to kill Donna Troy before she gives birth to her son. Her son, in their timeline, becomes Lord Chaos -- An evil god who enslaves the entire Earth. Lord Chaos learns of this plan and travels back in time to ensure his birth.
The "Team Titans" locate Donna Troy following the Titan's Hunt storyline. Surprisingly, Terra has apparently returned from the dead and joined this new team of Titans. Gar Logan is the first to set eyes on his once living friend.
As the current team of Titans (calling themselves the New Titans) realize Donna is in danger, they rush off to guard her as she is having her baby. Upon reaching S.T.A.R. Labs,
the New Titans are fired upon by an energy being from the Team Titans. The copter is destroyed, but the New Titans escape just in time. Donna Troy begins to go into labor as Lord Chaos clinches over in pain: Donna Troy is about to give birth. He immediately takes off to join her mother at her side to witness his birth.
The Team Titans attempt to engage Donna in a fatal battle as the New Titans barge in to save her. With both sides energized, a fight begins.
Terry attempts to move Donna, but she is not able to move because of the labor. Suddenly with a strong energy blast, Lord Chaos hovers over his mother informing the battling individuals: "NO ONE TOUCHES THIS WOMAN EXCEPT ME!"
Lord Chaos disappears with his mother as both teams look on. They continue their fight till Nightwing orders his team to stop.

Lord Chaos toys with his mother as her labor pains worsen. He tells her of the legend of birthright: "My birthright is a legacy handed down by Uranus and Gaea, the gods who birthed the original Titans. And as those Titans slew their progenitors-- and as thei childern-- the olympian gods -- tried to slay the titans...so must
I slay you!"
With that final thought, Donna Troy was blasted by an energy beam causing her body to fly out into deep space, vaporized. Young baby Troy watched as his mother was murdered.
Both baby Troy and Lord Chaos are alive and together. This is impossible. Lord Chaos realizes that there is a paradox occuring. He must slay his father as well. As this thought process is occuring, the Earth begins to have several different meterological events occur at the same time. A voice can be heard everywhere. Donna Troy has returned. She is not longer mortal. She is a goddess. An angry goddess.
Donna Troy begins to search out Lord Chaos, but as a 50-Foot tall woman. Terry Long attempts to talk to his wife, but she immediately brushes him off. She heads towards the moon to find Chaos.
Meanwhile, Chaos has returned to Earth to kill his father.
A huge battle begins between son and mother resulting in the mass destruction of New York City. As the battle comes to a head, the Titans of Myth intervine to stop the senseless battle. Both the Titans and the Team Titans are transported to New Chronus to face the Titans of Myth.
The Titans of Myth decide to take Lord Chaos with them to allow him to grow as an individual. Donna Troy decides that she wants the Titans of Myth to take her god powers and the powers from her infant son. Moreover, she decides the same fate for herself.
The Titans of Myth are proud of their "seed." Donna becomes totally human, with her husband and son.
Donna begins to fall into the role of mortal mother as she decides to take in the now homeless Team Titans. Both Terry and Donna buy a farm just outside of the capital of New Jersey and declare their home a "POWER-FREE ZONE." As with all heroes, adventure falls into the Team Titan's lives, pulling Donna into the hero world again occassionally.
Tension between Donna and Terry begin to build due to the Team Titans and their constant presence in both their lives. Eventually, Terry begins to find comfort with his ex wife, Marcia Long and his daughter, Jennifer. Donna is overwhelmed with grief. However, her loyalty to the Team Titans wins out towards the end. She decides to continue the support the Team Titans (and later play a small part in Zero Hour)instead of standing by both Terry and Robert. She is not neglicting her role as wife and mother. However, the guilt of making the Team Titans "stuck" in the 20th century because of her "son" overwhelms her. She begins again as a hero, but with no powers.
Zero Hour begins shortly towards the end of the Team Titans stay with the Longs. It is discovered that a bandit by the name of Extant (who is former Hawk, Hank Hall) has "created" the Lord Chaos timeline in order to place the Team Titans as pawns for his "reboot" of the beginning of time. Eventually, all the Team Titans disappear except both Mirage and Terra II because they are actually from this time period and not the alternate timeline of Lord Chaos. This mystery will plague these two characters for a long while.
During the end of Zero Hour, Donna attempts to recover her powers by communing with the Titans of Myth with Diana's (Wonder Woman) help. Even after communing with the Titans of Myth, she is unable to recover her powers because the gods do not want her to recover her powers based on personal needs. Donna is completely devastated. After this emotional scene, she discovers Terry, Robert, Marcia and Jennifer spending time together at the former Long home. She realizes she has lost everything, including her family.
Donna goes into isolation, thus losing her husband and her child
(little is known what happened between the end of the Team Titans series and her readmittance into the hero world later in the year).
The Darkstar organization approaches Donna Troy to become the Darkstar of Earth following the disenvowment of the former Darkstar, Kolos. This is Donna's chance to return to the hero world, so she quickly takes it. Moreover, she is dealing with the impending divorce and custody battle with her soon to be ex-husband, Terry Long. This becomes an excellent opportunity for her to escape her mortal life and the problems that are associated with it. She is outfitted with internal "masers" that are surgically implanted in her hands. The deputies that are under her command don't like the idea of her replacing their former leader. However, Donna gets their respect based on her leadership skills.
Roy, now called Arsenal, reforms the Titans with a new group of young adventurers. This is where she meets young Kyle Rayner, the new Green Lantern. Kyle recently lost his girlfriend, Alex, to the deathgrip of Major Force. His grief and self-imposed guilt becomes apparent to Donna around Christmas of the first year of this new team of Titans. Donna and Kyle bond because of their deep personal tragedies. A romantic spark begins shortly after.
Jealousy reigns in this relationship. Donna is concerned about Kyle's on-going grief of Alex. Moreover, the age difference between the two bothers Donna. These differences begin to drive a wedge between the two. Eventually, they do break up almost a year from beginning the relationship. The breakup is hard on both of them, so Donna steers clear of Kyle at every opportunity.
Gravyn, the bastard son of Darkseid, decides to attack R'ann, home of Adam Strange. John Stewart, leader of the Darkstar organization, calls all Darkstars to R'ann to stop this threat. Meanwhile, Donna and Kyle are reunited after a brief separation as Donna asks for his help in stopping this threat. His loyalty to John Stewart prevails, so both Donna and Kyle race to R'ann.
Gravyn devastates the front line of Darkstars. Kyle is almost beaten, but wins in the end as Gravyn is defeated. As the battle concludes, John Stewart is found with a broken back and barely alive. Kyle places him into a ring created life-support machine for transport back to Earth. Donna decides to resign from the Darkstars and canabilizes her uniform for the remainder of the living Darkstars. She returns to Earth with Green Lantern and John Stewart.
Donna goes into her own little world for a bit, so she is not seen for several months of that year. She and Kyle are occassionally dating, but nothing serious. She later reappears during the Genesis storyline.
Donna and Hippolyta travel to the Source Wall to confront Darkseid behind the Wall. Donna begins to feel that an impending doom is approaching her, but she is unable to identify what it is. Donna and Hippolyta are cast from the wall, with the other heroes, and the storyline ends with all the heroes safely on Earth.
Wonder Woman II (Diana) dies at the hands of Neron over in her own title. Donna is devastated that her close friend is now gone. There is talk of her taking the mantle of Wonder Woman, but she does not step up to the challenge. Hippolyta (former Wonder Woman I) becomes the new Wonder Woman.
Donna begins to show up over with Wonder Woman I (Hippolyta) and Artemis as a potential Darkseid threat looms over Gateway City. She is present when the original Wonder Woman I returns from retirement. Donna learns that Terry Long, Jennifer Long, and Robert Long are killed in an accident.
She begins to grieve for them. This storyline begins to focus more on Donna and a dark threat named Dark Angel.
The return of Wonder Woman I from godhood signals the final battle between both Dark Angel and Donna Troy. During the final blow, Donna Troy's existence and soul disappears as Dark Angel is defeated. A now comatose
body remains of Donna Troy.
Diana attempts to restart Donna's soul by lassoing both Flash II and Donna together for a memory transfer. With the special properties of the lasso, Donna Troy is restored. However, only the Flash II's memories were transferred. Moreover,Donna's uniqueness as an individual was diminished because of Flash II's existing memories versus Donna's true memories. Donna decides to pass on the costume of Wonder Girl to the current Wonder Girl, Cassie Sandmark.
Donna and Diana return to Themyscria to recover from their ordeals. It is then that Donna is introduce to the Queen Hippolyta as her "daughter." In this event, Donna is cornated as Princess of Themyscria.
The Technis Imperative storyline begins, bringing Donna back into the hero world to save the now totally computer Cyborg from destroying himself and the Earth.
Donna comes face to face with her greatest tragedy in a simulation created by Technis: The return of her dead son. She is aware that it is not real, but she feels a sense of closure at the end. After this storyline, Donna rejoins the Titans to perhaps return to a place where she could restore her memories. Moreover, she wanted to return to a sense of family.
This brings us up to date to the current Titans storyline. The Titans were reformed with the ideal of family. Moreover, the older Titans took several young heroes under their wings to train them to become the future champions of the DC Universe. Troia went through an identity crisis upon rejoining the team. She wondered if she had been fully restored as the woman she truly was upon her 'rebirth' after the defeat of Dark Angel. Furthermore, Donna's memories of her life were vague and incomplete. Donna served as a member of the team and briefly resumed a romantic relationship with fellow Titan, Arsenal (Roy Harper). Soon after, Dark Angel returned, vowing to destroy every incarnation of Donna Troy in every timeline! With the help of the Titans' children from an alternate timeline [Nightstar, Aquagirl, Darkstar, Red Hood and Kid Flash from the Kingdom Come timeline], the Titans were able to prevent Dark Angel's mad scheme and trap her in Nightstar's treehouse fortress. Upon Dark Angel's defeat, Donna Troy was fully restored with all her previous memories. She resumed her life with renewed confidence and vigor.
Graduation Day: Day of Death
Shortly afterward, A mysterious conglomerate known as Optitron offered to sponsor the Titans and Young Justice after summoning them to San Francisco. Before any decisions could be made, a mysterious cybernetic girl [known as Indigo] from the future invaded the complex - and immediately engaged combat with both teams. With half the team out of commission, the remaining members tried to track down Indigo, but instead encountered a rogue Superman android which had been activated. Caught by surprise, Lilith has her neck snapped by the Superman android, killing her instantly.
