We just got back from the third baby shower of the week. I know that babies are rare on Voyager, but this is ridiculous.
We now have the nursery filled with everything but the kid. It's due next week.
Tom will have an anxiety attack if it doesn't get here soon. He's *even* been scanning me in my sleep. He made one crack about my size. It was that I couldn't be "that" huge and not be carrying twins. He's been hiding out in the holodeck ever since.
I would have gotten mad at him for it but I peeked at what he was doing. He's creating a park. It has these cute little swings for babies and sand boxes.
I don't know why he's hiding. After all, I haven't thrown anything at him since the fourth month.
I hate being this pregnant. I need help getting up and down. I can't use chairs, beds or bathtubs comfortably. I was so embarrassed the first time I had to yell for Tom to come and get me out of the bath tub. I can't spend a lot of time on my feet either--they swell. I'm on restricted duty in engineering. I'm not even allowed near a Jefferies tube...all right, I'll admit that I haven't wanted to crawl through a tube since the second month. Morning sickness and Jeffries tubes do not go together. Basically, I'm allowed to do all the paper work and scheduling. All the jobs that I usually try and pawn off on other people.
I've stopped having obnoxious mood swings. I found the perfect phrase to explain what happened to me, "mood swings with a bungee cord." It's from an old book called"Mirrors" by a lady named Bujold. I was up and down so fast no one could keep up--even me--most of the time.
Aha. You won't believe my backache. It's been hurting off and on all day. I hate to go to the doctor with it. He has no idea what real pain is. I know he had the flu--once. That wasn't enough.
