As HAMILTON's shore leave approaches, everyone makes plans and CSO
Mercedes McCarter comes up with a great get-to-know-one-another plan
for the senior staff. Karaoke! CO Antonio Leeds excuses himself from
the singing shindig and invites Mercedes instead to a poker game
between himself, FO Judah Gibbons, and a few of the other senior
officers. Mercedes first time dockside turns a bit sour when her ex-
fiance, who she just wrote a gently-closing-things-off-between-them
letter to, finds her in the crowd and kisses her passionately just as
her new boyfriend, OPS Zac Bentley arrives! Zac disappears into the
crowd before Mercedes can explain.
---USS DESIRE (USS HAMILTON Command Graade Training)---
Mister Mallorn, the infiltrator they have in the brig, continues to
insist that the Orion mother ship is actually a mildly intelligent,
space-dwelling creature reminding CSciO Sudak of Gomtuu whom the USS
ENTERPRISE investigated. The HIROSHIMA arrives and several DESIRE
crewmembers board the support vessel to rescue the remaining nine
prisoners. After they return, the Orions launch 25 interceptors to
destroy the HAWKING and let no one have it. DESIRE and HIROSHIMA
destroy or disable 13 before ten more are launched as reinforcements.
The space creature, with insufficient guards to hold it, emerges from
the nebula and destroys 1/4 of the fighters and disables many more
with a single blast. The remaining Orions flee the area and the
creature flashes complex light signals to the SF vessels before
slipping back into the nebula. The mission essentially over, CO
Joanne Carters and FO Jill Landon-Leeds are left with paperwork and
their duty to their fallen comrades, but, after leaving them to their
solemn duty for a while, their HAMILTON CO Antonio Leeds ends the
simulation and orders them to go nowhere near their offices for three
days.

(The Horizon is currently investigating a dark matter anomaly in the
Katarian sector.)
Or'Nonya tells Tergin what he knows about dark matter nebulas, and
Tergin decides to hold position, rather than going for the center, as
suggested earlier by the 'ghosts' from the nebula. After a talk to
his holoprogram, CMO Bill Patton visits CSciO Melody Cuen. He
suggests to look for a way to convert the dark matter into normal
matter. Hoping to get a better understanding of the situation, CNS
Jay McMadeth talks Maggy into showing him what it is like inside the
nebula.
On the Dakota, Leyson Ayden's plan is carried out despite objections
from the ship's CO. Using neutrino emissions, the ship starts firing
a corridor through the anomaly to where they have calculated the
Horizon to be. Their actions result in Tergin and Maggy collapsing.
>From what Maggy is able to tell and from what Tergin has heard from
his mate, the Horizon crew concludes that someone is still alive on
research station Arkon, deep inside the nebula. Whether his
intentions are good or bad remains to be seen. On the Dakota, they
have found the Horizon on sensors, as well as what appears to be RS
Arkon.

On the decision on who should go along for the away mission, Lt.
Sands decides on the Dr. Morit to be ready for casualties, the
Hollander twins, Lt. Shawn Day, Ensign Jorden for her abilities
in science, and Ensign Jur for his negotiation abilities. The
Hollander twins will be used as a secret weapon against the Talosians
because of how they confused Admiral Evers.
Ab calls Jorden in for a check-up since she has not already. Morit
is infatuated with the FCO and ends up rambling while Jorden drifting
in and out of their conversation. He asks for Jur to come to sickbay
in order to return Krwn back to his real body by keeping him
occupied. Azelda Blei soon to be Dr. Azelda Blei is also to help out
in the telepathic part of the process. It is then decided that Jur
and Azelda are to combine abilities to transfer Krwn's mind to his
body.

Dr. Villeray completes a preliminary report on Ensign Knicks'
condition. The tests show massive tissue damage, the cause of which
will have to wait until the HIKARU's return to DS-101.
Captain Alyza and her away team (Lt. Cady, Dr. Villeray, Ensign
Goose) arrives on the planet's surface to be greeted by President
Akamai. The President informs Alyza that many years ago the Gortu
had reclaimed vast areas of land from the sea to provide swampy
living areas. It was these areas which sustained most of the
earthquake damage, with the sea reclaiming the living spaces. The
increased swamp lead to an increase in the methane concentration in
the atmosphere and damage to the ozone layer. Cady gets an
introduction to a local welcoming ceremony, The Bringing Cake. The
USS ZAHAL, commanded by Lt. Cmdr. Batya Bitzalel, arrives in-system
with the ATLANTIS to lend assistance.
Back at DS-101, the USS LEGACY and Lt. Cmdr. John Roberts returns
after an absence of several months. Lt. Cmdr. Roberts is severely
injured some time prior to arrival and is taken for medical
attention. There was an open arrest order for Roberts and the crew
for desertion and they are placed under Security's control. The
LEGACY's arrival causes a subspace tunnel, through which the LEGACY
traveled from Xu'sorfian space, to remain open. No one knows what
happened to the LEGACY while it was gone. But the possibility of war
exists because of what happened with the LEGACY on her voyage.

Payl'n is slightly over whelmed by all that is happening. Finding the
captain in gone and now Cannon is in charge, that there is a new
counselor he has to meet, having Romulan patients, an overzealous CSO
and also having to be at a Formal evening in twenty mintues. The
captain gets ready, he is met by an old friend Abigail and together
they join the formal evening.
One by one, the rest of the crew get ready for the dinner and
arrive. Meeting old friends and making new ones. The new counselor,
having not yet uploaded her holographic nanny, finds a sitter for
Jaden and also attends the dinner. The dinner party is going on just
lovely, but unknown, 400km away from Tallen City, on the planets
surface. A man in a virus growth labratory, unwittingly tears his
containment uniforma and infects him and many, many more with the
deadly virus.
As the party rages on, on the Nightingale. On the planet one is about
to begin....

The Federation/Na'Chem Ceasefire is still in effect. Although, the
Na'Stiu faction continues with efforts to upset the Ceasefire.
StarFleet vessels have been dispatched to attempt to negotiate with
the Na'Stiu and provide peacekeeping defense. The USS SELEYA is
currently pursuing negotiation efforts while the XERXES and ZEUS have
been patrolling areas of intense Na'Stiu activity.
Diplomatic relations with the Juun are still considered to be in 'a
tense period' and talks have been initiated to resolve the
situation. Captain Mara Nemec, Juun StarFleet officer, has been
assigned to the Juun homeworld to attempt to repair the situation
which has recently escalated after riots in the Vu'rain province and
the trial of several doctors believed to be responsible for the
Genetic Experimentation scandals. This news comes only 10 months
since a team led by Captain Alyza of DS 101 uncovered evidence that
the Juun Union was indeed developing a weapon of mass destruction.
The lives of many Seekers were lost during the investigation which
ended on SD 12.0501.
The recent temporal anomalies prevalent in the Cocoon seem to have
waned, although official reports are still unavailable at this time.
Recent departure of Admiral Fergal McKewan has caused restructuring
in the Cocoon Fleet Command. McKewan has been replaced on interim
basis by field-promoted Fleet Admiral Fuschia Tino. Captain
Elisabeth Davies, recently made Head of Cocoon Fleet Intelligence has
been given a field promotion to Admiral and named as interim Fleet
Executive Officer. All Squadron Commander positions are currently
unfilled and the interim brass is in process of searching for
successors. Captain Ardeous Brockman will be in command of the
continuing clean-up of SFIntel in the Cocoon and Commander Foster
Ryan has been assigned as new Chief Training Officer for the Fleet.

DEEP SPACE 101 has seen much activity as its engineering capability's
are undergoing a major upgrading. Also facilities for accommodating
its new role as a secondary command centre in the event of
catastrophe befalling SB OMEGA are in the process of being added.
Work progresses slowly but the facilities are nearly completed.
OP108 has completed installation of its orbital docking platform and
commercial and Fleet activity continues to grow in the area. Recent
disappearance of the ships in the area has prompted Fleet Command to
send the USS COCHRANE, now cleared of framed treason charges, to
investigate the space around OP 108 and the Andromeda wormhole.
The Noo'ach Peace and Trade Conference was extremely successful,
resulting in many new trade and diplomatic relations being
established with several new races. Although a mobile anomaly
appeared in the area, nearly causing the destruction of the USS
HORIZON, USS HIKARU and a Hetgarot vessel, the conference was spared
any turmoil. The Hetgarot concerns about the recent elevated
activity near OP 108 has been eased due to the success of the
conference.

Relations with the Klingon Empire have improved steadily since the
completion of the New Khitomer Concorde. The Cardassian Union
continues to make no official comment on the situation, but
intelligence shows military activity at a minimum within the Union.
Fleet yards across the Federation have been putting in extra efforts
and brought the capacity of Starfleet's Fleet's back up to what they
were. The ship yards are now slowing their production of starships
and focusing on developing new designs that require less personnel,
as what Starfleet lacks now is the personnel to staff the ships. All
Starfleet Fleets have regained their strengths.
The new Tecumseh-class battle cruiser, the first ship to be produced
exclusively in the Cocoon has been retitled the USS ATHENE, in honor
of the previously destroyed ATHENE. Although the ATHENE's current
mission is TOP SECRET, Command has confirmed that the majority of the
mission will take place outside of the Cocoon. All eyes in the
Federation are awaiting results of the Tecumseh-class' maiden voyage,
as production may begin at non-Cocoon shipyards.
Recent activity on the Tholian border has resulted in increased
monitoring. No military threat is perceived at this time.
