Captain Burke tells Ensign Lonu and Lt Fanara that he will report
the discovery of the USS Horizon NCC-1000 to the Fleet Admiral. He will
try to get her to let them be the first to investigate the NCC-1000.
The next day, Burke presents the orders for their new mission. All
communications have been lost with the Amazon colony in the Najorab
sector and the Horizon is to investigate. Furthermore, it is to check up
on the planet Deserte, five lightyears north of Amazon. Deserte is
inhabited by a civilisation who is just beginning to explore their
surrounding space. As the NCC-1000 is pretty much enroute to Amazon,
they can do a quick exploration of that vessel's status.

soon come upon a lone man, who seems to know the CSO.

With Cmdr Emond recovering in 'Gale's Sickbay, Mrell discovers that a
cloaked torpedo is responsible for the star's increased radiation
output. He suggests taking his ship to track down its origin. Canon
agrees, but insists that Stuart and McKinnley accompany Mrell.
On the HIKARU, Alyza fails in her attempt to talk the Usari into
allowing over flights of the castle where Emond was wounded. She does
learn that the area is reserved for a separate sect of Usari and only
they can safely enter the area. She also learns of the cloaked torpedo.
It is evident that whoever fired the torpedo is purposely dis-stablizing
the star and probably were responsible for the destruction of the Usari
sub-warp fleet.

USS YEAGER

Cmdr Fischer takes an Away Team to the Gaia-1 Relay Station. No life
signs - no bacteria, nothing alive - are detected on the station, only
bio-residues. A surprising find was the total absence of emergency
rations or water on the station. Some of the bio-residue are found to
come from a crew member. Main power and gravity are restored to the
station. Damage is evident everywhere - consoles crushed, pipes and
tubes broken, hatches ripped off. Accessing the computer, the Team
learns that an anomaly formed on the station, intersected with the
bodies of the crew causing them to explode. Before the Team could leave
another anomaly forms around Fischer, Ens Draat, and Naalauilos. To
their fellows, their bodies seem to explode. Fischer, Draat and
Naalauilos find themselves in a forest. They search the forest for
signs of civilization and Lt Green. Meanwhile aboard the stardrive
section, it too is impacted by an anomaly - causing several crew members
to vanish and reappear in the forest near Fischer's Away Team.
Camping in the forest for the night, Fischer remembers a camping trip of
his youth - a trip that saw his father killed by two Vulcan escaped
prisoners. Naalauilos also has a dream about her past.
