Okay, first things first. How many of you out there actually own a Parker-Brother's Ouija board? Come on fess up.*counts hands* That's just what I thought..bunches and gobs of you. Up until about 10 years ago, the "game" could still be bought in the local toy store as a "game the whole family could play." Uh, yeah right...first of all a little history then a few common sence questions.
First of all for those out there who didn't know the name Ouija comes from the French words Oui (meaning yes) and Ja (meaning no). The purpose of this "game" is to contact the dearly, or not so dearly as the case may be, departed and have them answer silly questions such as "When will I get married?" or "Will I have a date for the Prom?" or "What are the lottery numbers for this weeks big winner?" Is my disdain for the usage of this instrument as a play toy becoming apparent? It is quite simple to me. If you can answer "yes" to more than 3 of the following questions..be my guest and use a Ouija board. You probably have a good understanding of it and know the good side and down side of it's usage. If you can't..then don't mess with the silly thing. Why chance what is really still an unknown area and could potentially be dangerous?
- Are you a "TRAINED" psychic, parapsychologist, or medium?
- Are you aware of the true consequences associated with contacting the "Spirit World?"
- Do you understand the basic principle..and I mean REALLY understand that a spirit may not bother you without YOUR permission?
- Are you truly secure in your knowledge of yourself and the people you are sitting with..because I KNOW you are not trying to do this on your own..RIGHT!!
- Are You confident that this is something to be taken lightly and that any information that may come thru this "game"
will be taken with a grain of salt and NOT used to decide the major factors of YOUR life!! ((Remember FREE WILL PEOPLE!!))
- Can you, without a shadow of a doubt, walk away from said "game" should the need arise and continue on as if it were a game? In other words,Are you stuck Like a gambler or an alcoholic..Or can you just stop and walk away?
- Are you over puberty, of mostly sound mind, clear of mind-altering drugs ((AND ya’ll KNOW what I mean)) and free of alcohol?
- And one more big question..Are you free from suicidal thoughts and deep despair?((If you have just lost a love one..this is not the way to say hello..you will 99% of the time be led down the garden path or just disappointed in general.))
Gee, when you think about it, those are some pretty serious questions for a "game" aren’t they...Maybe that should be a BIG clue how little a game this is. Then again, this is my opinion and I may be wrong..but It is highly doubtful I am.
BTW..If you are going to dive into the realm of the Ouija or any other psychic tool..try saying this little prayer to yourself 3 times before you do, to center yourself and get in a clear frame of mind.
