'Then and Now'
A poem by: Tara W.
POV: Mulder (to Scully)
Note:) This poem was inspired by both 'The Pilot' and 'Amor
Fati.' I have to thank the very talented Thomas for his help.
------------------------------------

Knowing you then as I know you now,
reaching your depths,
if only I knew how.
So fresh was your face, so subtle were the lies,
and so brilliant was that morning of our lives.
Trust, lost then, had now been found,
and the meaning of love was only your glancing blue eyes.
Now, the truth, seems clear, on this afternoon of our lives.
Must we waste these mornings, waiting for each other,
and let our remorseful tears be the only sound?
Must our lives be squandered, letting each day pass,
or can we trust the love heard within our sighs?
My image of you then, is not like now.
The facades have faded, and your aura is my warmth.
A soft silhouette has dimmed those glancing eyes,
but love forever glows,
lighting the path into the night of our lives.
