The Chamber Of Day
A bright glow hangs at the end of the tunnel, seeming to beckon to you. The passage gradually grows wider, until it extends into a massive chamber. As you look about you, you instantly know why this room is called the Chamber of Day. Although the room itself is unremarkable, it is what lies within the room that catches your breath. Mountains of gold and silver coins meet your eye,
the glint of the treasure almost blinding. Numerous goblets, plates, armour, weapons made from precious metals lie scattered throughout the room. Urns and casks of jewels stand beside the mounds of treasure, their glimmer alone dazzling to your eyes. Atop the ceiling, a glowing ball of golden fire hovers, its light being reflected off the treasure below, filling the room with a coruscating rainbow of colour. There must be enough treasure here to buy the whole of the Kingdom of Aranor and more. At the opposite end of the chamber, apart from all the other treasure, lie 3 unusual items. Set upon an ornate stand of gold, lies an old tattered robe of common cotton. Compared to the rest of the room, this piece of clothing seems incredibly drab. Next to it lies a simple bamboo flute, well worn with age and use. Despite its age, it has a quality of self-assurance, as if it belonged here. Finally, on the other side of the stand rests a small wooden sword, the type used by children in play. Numerous dents and scratches mark its surface, but it, too, appears perfectly suited to this area. An intricate mystical circle surrounds the bizzare articles, glowing with a purple light. Although you cannot fathom what exactly the circle does, you suspect it holds a nasty surprise for whoever tries to take any of the three objects.
