New and Improved
Bishop comes from fifty years ahead in an alternative future where mutants rule the earth. There he was part of a radical police force that established order despite chaos the hard way. Shard, his sister, was promoted in the XSE as his commanding officer. Bishop patrolled the streets with his best buds, Randall and Malcolm. Trevor Fitzroy was another one of Bishop's cadets, but became one of the most dangerous criminals of his time. Fitzroy was incarcerated, where he led a big prison break. While attempting to recapture the villain, Bishop's two buds died at the hands of Fitzroy and his outlaws. Bishop was pulled through Fitzroy's time portal to the 616 reality. Bishop was then taken to Xavier by the X-Men. Since his future is not quite pleasant, he's always alert and shows an excess of violence most times, although his life with the X-Men seems to have calmed him a bit.

Intruiging picture.

His mutant power consists of absorbing any type of energy and use it back against a target. It is known that Bishop may have killed his sister, Shard, in the future, but it is not known why or even if he killed Shard for certain. He had once let it slip that he was too late to save Shard and said he would not allow that to happen again. The mutant named Mountjoy said that Shard's death was exaggerated. In Bishop's future, both of them joined the mutant police, but Shard was the one to get promoted, since Bishop didn't want to miss out on the action and not be in the streets that were his first home. He also had something of an attitude problem. Shard is now back as a living hologram in the X-Factor team.

In the future Bishop and Shard come from, all the X-Men died victims of a traitor, supposed to be the last member to join the team. According to Bishop this is Gambit, so Bishop keeps always an eye on him, just in case. Another unconfirmed rumor concerning Bishop is that he is Monet St.Croix's grandson.

In the AOA world...The man known only as Bishop was found wandering in Seattle by Magneto and the X-Men. Magneto immediately recognized him as being one of the four mutants that had attempted to protect both him and Xavier from Legion twenty years ago in Israel. Using Rogue's mutant ability, Magneto was able to glean from Bishop's mind that Xavier was not meant to die in Israel. Bishop also claims that the timeline in which they were living was a cosmic error that resulted from Xavier's death and the battle to protect him and that it was imperative to restore that timeline, regardless of the consequences to the inhabitants of this one. Unsure of whether Bishop was mad or speaks the truth, Magneto nevertheless set plans into motion that would allow him to travel into the past, prevent Xavier's death, and thus correct the timeline.

Bishop is currently lost with Deathbird somewhere in space.
