Ahh the Danger Room. Perhaps the most famous place in the X-World. It has been the training ground for the best of the best X-Men, and a Holy Grail for their foes that few have reached. Here the mutants hone their mutants skills with their normal skills of agility, speed, and perception into a lethal fighting force.<\P>

This place was originally located on the second floor of the Mansion. It was simply a high-tech obstacle course designed to simulate conditions the heroes might face when combating other mutants, whether they have metal tentacles like Omega Red or flames shooting from their hands. When the X-men encountered the Shi'ar, the concept of the Danger Room changed forever. Now it is in the fairly new subbasement level two and imbued with Shi'ar technology. Now the X-Men train with solid holograms, and in any environment they can think of. They even now have the added advantage of simulating formidable foes to fight against with powers not unlike those they have encountered in the real world. Good thing they also have a state of the art Mutant Medilab.

All this, and the teachers can observe and critique from the comfort of the observation booth. As I have noticed, however, it is usually praise more than criticism. Maybe the X-Men we usually see actually practicing in the Danger Room should allow the underlings more time in the room. Some of those newbies make way too many mistakes in the field.
