Warren first used his mutation, wings which grew from his shoulder blades, in New York city, where for a short period he was a crime fighter known as The Avenging Angel. Professor Xavier contacted Warren, and he joined the X-Men, shortening his name to Angel. He, along with the other first generation X-Men, tried desperately to maintain peace between the human and mutant populace.
When his parents died, Angel inherited their fortune, used some of it to finance his own team, The Champions, and publicly revealed his identity and mutant ability. He then married Candy Southern.
With the formation of X-Factor, Angel was reunited with his team-mates, but an encounter with Apocalypse shattered his new found happiness. Apocalypse abducted Angel, altering his DNA and mutating him into one of his Horseman of Death. His wings had been transformed into leathery bat wings, his fingertips ended in razor-like claws, he was given the ability to breath fire, and his demeanour had changed from carefree and supportive to cold and aggressive. He snapped when Candy died, which he felt responsible for. While this trauma served to break Angel from Apocalypse’s hold, that freedom came too late. With his wife dead, and his humanity gone, Angel adopted the name The Fallen, and vanished.
When the Six began to form, The Fallen returned. Much like Bloodstorm, his recent whereabouts remain a mystery. He Seems to have rejoined his team-mates in an effort to find himself, although his violent actions seem to contradict this.
The Fallen can fly, breathe fire, has sharp claws at the end of his fingertips, and enhanced strength.
