Meltdown

Name: Tabitha Smith
Group: X-Force
Origin:
First Appearance: Marvel Secret Wars 2, #5
Known Relatives: None

Meltdown can create 'timebombs,' little spherical energy pellets that explode on command with concessive force. She can create timebombs of any size, from marble to basketball. She can telekinetically control them completely, moving them around as she wills. She can, as well, reabsorb these timebombs back into herself after creation. The strength and damage done by these timebombs varies according to their size. They have shown the potential to destroy walls or rend steel.

Tabitha's early family life did not go well. She was beaten by her father, who seemed to need a scapegoat for taking out his anger, and there was no mother to protect her. She ran away from home and soon fell into the clutches of the Beyonder. Not liking him, she betrayed him to the Avengers and got away from him as well. Staying on the run, she joined up with the Vanisher's Fallen Angels, but later left them when X-Factor drafted her for their trainee team. She again ran away, but returned to X-Factor when life got boring.

During Inferno, the X-Factor trainees got together to save Artie and Leech as the X-Terminators. After the Inferno, she, along with several others of the former X-Factor training team joined up with the New Mutants. Later, when the New Mutants changed to X-Force under the leadership of Cable, she stayed with them.

Recently, though, Tabitha has been put through several trials, her pseudo-friendship with Creed betrayed, losing her temper and almost getting Psylocke killed, and Sebastian Shaw's attack on her home. Almost killing her father who she was trying to make amends with. She'e through with being pushed around and has gained a new attitude. Nobody's going to hurt her anymore.
