While Phylocke was recuperating from her stint as Captain Britain, she was cptured by Mojo. Mojo restored her eyesight by giving her bionic eyes. At oughly the same time, the Japanese crime boss, Matsu'o Tsurayaba made a deal with Spiral, the several handed mutant who worked for Mojo, to save the life of his dying lover, Kwannon. To amuse her master, Spiral healed Kwannon and switched her mind with Psylocke. Psylocke was an enemy of Matsu'o; meaning that his lover had now become his enemy. Kwannon, however, looked like Psylocke but acted like her assassin self. She gave herself a new identity: Revanche.

For a while the two worked as allies, neither of them sure of the other's true identity. Soon enough two things happened. The truth of their mind switch was revealed and Revanche learned that she was dying from the Legacy virus. She then persuaded her lover, Matsu'o, to kill her. In the end, he did, not wanting to see her die a slow and torturous death from the virus. Her martial arts skills as well as her physical form, still live on under the power of Psylocke's mind.
