Kyle Gibney was kicked out of his home when his parents learned that he was a mutant. He was recruited by the Secret Empire to be a subject in their experiments in creating the perfect killer. He was injected with DNA from the assassin known as Wyre, although how this interacted with his mutant powers is not quite known as it is still not clear what his original powers were [my guess is a healing factor]. Wyre, however, decided that he couldn't bare to let all the killers that he helped create live and so destroyed the complex. The Canadian government found Kyle in the wreckage of the base (which may have been the site of the Weapon X program) and took him in. They needed a place to hide him from Wyre and placed him in Department H, with the help of Walter Langkowski who buried the psychiatric reports in the hope that the Department could cure Kyle. Kyle was placed into Gamma Flight (I) under the code name of Wild Child.

When the government cut funding, Wild Child disappeared. He resurfaced again when Delphine Courtney recruited him to be a member of Omega Flight and help kill James Hudson. After that, he was imprisoned until the second time that Omega Flight attempted to destroy Alpha Flight when he was placed in prison again. He eventually escaped and went on a killing spree, almost killing Heather Hudson, but beaten by Wolverine who has an animosity for him. He was later recruited into the second Gamma Flight, a government controlled group to replace Alpha Flight. He stayed with that group until they were dissolved and ordered to join Alpha Flight. At this point, he went berserk and attacked the Prime Minister as well as Goblyn, and Pathway, and cut his way through a crowded street. He was teleported away by Nemesis and later returned as Weapon Omega. He was certified as being sane and healthy. And for a time, he was. Slowly, however he began to convert back to Wild Child, and he became Wildheart, until finally he became Wild Child again.

Val Cooper, liaison to X-Factor, offered him a role in her team and he gladly accepted in order to get away from Aurora who he had begun a relationship with as Wildheart which he felt he couldn't continue as WildChild. He continues to be a member of X-Factor.

Super-Human Powers: Wild Child has enhanced physical abilities, an incredible healing factor, as well as enhanced senses. Is also capable of tapping into the bestial part of the mind. Wild Child usually uses his claws and talons as weapons.
