It
pleases me greatly that recently, many people have
taken the time to actually voice their opinions and
thoughts in our "newspaper". I wish to
thank all of them for doing so. The thought provoking
pieces from everybody have been very enlightening. It
seems that the Times is no longer a
"newspaper" in the literal sense of the
word, but a forum for thoughtful communication. I
think the most rewarding aspect of this paper, is
that the contributors found here, seem to take things
seriously, as opposed to basing their submittals on a
totally roleplay way of life.
One
thing that this weekly medium allows, that our normal
"real time" chat does not, is the
opportunity to actually think long and hard, about
what we read, and what we are going to say. We are
more thoughtful in the choice of our words, in hopes
that what we say is interpreted exactly as we mean it
to be.
I
will object to one thing I have seen rearing
it's ugly head, and that is the submittals of a few
slaves, who seem to think they do not need to
continue being slaves when they write pieces for this
paper: ie they seem to think they can address
freepersons by name only. It is an open forum, but it
is also a Gorean forum, and as such, all Gorean
customs will continue to apply. If you cannot
remember who you are when putting your thoughts to
words, then feel free to submit them elsewhere. There
are a few pieces withheld from this issue for this
very reason. If you sent a piece, and it is not here,
then you may rest assured it needs some adjustment.
If you wish to correct the problem and re-submit it,
do so. If not, don't.
