She married Shar Terran in 2353. At the time, the USS Enterprise 1701-D visited in 2354, she was preparing to leave Aldea for further educational opportunities with her husband. She studied Engineering and Stellar Cartography at Starfleet Academy, and joined the USS Ajax upon her graduation from the Academy. Her husband later returned to Aldea to help their people. Ky stayed aboard the Ajax until her transfer to the USS Hellraiser in 2371.

Commander Terran is a stable woman. She is friendly and easy to talk to. She speaks lovingly of her people, and says she intends to return in the near future to start a family. She works well with people and is devoted to her job.
