Within a few minutes, the glass started moving around the table, slowly at first, then gathering momentum, before starting to point to letters. We asked a few times for a name, or a message, but unfortunately only got a jumble of letters which we were unable to decipher. At this stage, I was still skeptical, thinking it was maybe one of the others moving the glass deliberately. I know I wasn't moving it, even subconsciously, as I could feel the glass pulling my finger along - definitely not the other way around! I also removed my finger from the glass a couple of times, and it continued to move.
So I decided to try an experiment. I thought "Stop!" The glass immediately moved to the centre of the table and then ceased moving. We attempted to make contact again and the same happened as before - once again the letters appeared to spell nonsense. I tried thinking "Stop!" again, and sure enough, the glass stopped in the centre of the table. To my mind, this proves that no-one else was controlling the glass - how could they know when I was thinking for the glass to stop?
We may not have got a coherent message, but all skepticism has been removed from my mind. Maybe next time, with my more open mind, something more exciting may happen.
