I had been getting communication (through songs on the radio and the feeling of a presence in the room) from a friend who died in 1995 and wanted to communicate more effectively. One of my friends, D, was also interested in trying a Ouija session. We had been doing full moon ceremonies for several months (following a Wiccan ceremony) and decided to try the Ouija during one of these ceremonies. We cast the circle, being very careful to call in gods and goddesses of protection and also invoking the presence of Christ to protect us from harmful spirits. We sat down and waited for someone to come through. The first person was D's grandmother, whom she had never met. This grandmother warned her of some personal and financial difficulties concerning D's husband. The next person was my grandfather, deceased since 1973, who only said "Good Luck" and "Malarky" (in response to a question I had concerning genealogy) before going. During the communications, we kept getting "static". The pointer would very purposefully move around the board spelling nonsense "zarzarazzamarazza" and so on. Finally, getting a little frustrated, we asked who it was. It was our deceased friend, who then spelled "incredible" before continuing to "play around with us". The experience was meaningful in three ways to me. First, to confirm once again that we are not alone and our loved ones don't leave until they are ready. Second, to confirm that spirits are no more helpful in death than in life and that our focus should remain towards that "higher power", "Spirit" or "God" and let those who have passed help us without making communicating with them an end in and of itself. Thirdly, it seems important to state your intention before going to the board and ask for protection and help from whatever you feel shields you. If your intention is clear and good, there should be no room for "demons" or other angry spirits. |
