I wanted to tell you about an
interesting experience one of my friends had this last
week. She and I took my granddaughter camping for a week
and we were in a lovely lakeside campground. Now we have
both been there many times over the years, each with our
husbands, children, and grandchildren along, but never
just us three gals. My 6 year old granddaughter and I shared our camper and my friend was in her camper by herself. There are over 100 camp sites in this campground but during the week, there were probably no more than 25 of them occupied. I have had experiences with the unexplained, but my friend never has. One lazy quiet afternoon, I had my granddaughter to lay down for a rest and she fell asleep, so I went outside to read and enjoy the fresh air. I saw my friend come out of her camper and run around it then walked over to where I was sitting and asked if I had seen anyone outside of her camper. (We had no close neighbors.) When I told her no, she told me what she had just experienced. She had been sitting at her table reading when she heard someone walking around outside her camper. She hates people messing with her stuff and she was worried about her new generator. She immediately looked out her windows and seeing nobody she rushed outside to check. When she saw nobody, she walked over to where I was sitting and asked if I had seen or heard anyone. I hadn't. She is not the type of person to spook easily, so I do believe she heard someone walking around. We are both avid campers and know the difference between animal and human steps and what she heard were human ... just no body to go with them. As a side note there is a fenced grave on the hill opposite of where we camped. It is of a lone WW1 soldier and my children and I have visited the grave many times while they were growing up. I can't help but wonder if it was him. The rest of the week was uneventful, but since we came home, my granddaughter will NOT go into a room by herself. I don't know if the two things are related or not, but who knows. skeptika's note: G.F. advised separately that she took a photo at the camping ground during that trip - here it is: Make of it what you will! |
