I was not a believer in the paranormal until this occurence. I used to live in the basement of my parent's house, directly below the room my grand-father occupied before he passed on. I had a framed photo of my grand-father on the wall of my room, next to the basement window. One day when I was in the house alone (except for my grand-mother who was in the living room upstairs, on the other side of the house), I heard a crash at the window. I pretty much took this in my stride because my friends knew I could not hear the doorbell so they would normally knock at the window to let me know they were there. The only problem was that this time it wasn't a normal knock, it was very loud, almost like the window would break. Mad as hell I raced to the window to give whoever was responsible a piece of my mind, only to find no-one was there. I remember glancing at the photo of my grand-father on the wall and then deciding to go upstairs to confront the fool who had almost broken my window. When I reached the first floor, however, I found that my grand-mother who was on the couch, TV blaring, was choking on a piece of rye bread and in a bad way. I was able to dislodge the bread from her throat. Afterwards, when I knew she was okay, I went outside but no-one was there. Later on, all my friends denied being near the house at the time (and they had no idea why I was asking). I can only assume that my grand-father somehow came back to alert me to the dire circumstance that my grand-mother was in. |
