Waxing Spiritual

Yes well here it is. Four of us have sworn an oath not to tell anyone but seeing as it was a year ago, they probably won't mind. We were sitting around doing the same old seance thing, you know how it is, meeting spirits here and there, good ones, bad ones. Then we noticed something strange and weird in the air. A musty smell which caught our attention quite quickly.

The spirit's name was not recorded but she claimed to be a Sage, some sort of white dust angel who goes with the wind and has the power of air and wind, quite amazing. I was still a skeptic until Chris, my friend, brought put a challenge to this spirit. We had one candle at the end of the table, Chris said that if he didn't see that candle burnt down within the time frame of one minute then we would all be non-believers. The sage accepted the challange.

We were told to close our eyes and count from one to sixty, also to hold hands and think of the colour white. We did as we were asked. I had never felt so intense as numb as I did in that minute.

As we sat there with our eyes closed and hands held we heard the candle make a lot of sparking sounds. When we closed our eyes, the candle was about 20 cm (8 inches) long. When we opened our eyes there was melted candle wax all over the table and the candle was now only 10 cm. This was in the matter of a single minute. The candle wax almost looked as if someone sculpted it.

What I wanted to know was: was this the power of mind telepathy? This is the question I ask to the ruler of this universe. The four of us confirmed that we were all thinking of white for that whole minute which makes me wonder if it was the power of our own minds and perhaps not that of the spirit.

When we put our fingers back on the glass it was slow and weak, the Sage claimed that we had drained her energy (though maybe it was ours that was drained?) I felt very tired after the session and went straight to sleep soon after.

This episode in our lives has kept all us four together and we are still good friends. By the way, I know that it wasn't one of us playing a trick because we were all holding hands and I did cheat a little (I had a peek half way through).
