Vikings in Vahalla

I just stumbled across your website while searching for board game info.

I'm 27 years old and when I was younger, between 15 and 20, I "played with" ouija boards on and off and had numerous strange experiences. I'm a very skeptical person and approached the board from more of a scientific viewpoint. I always wanted to know whether a spirit guided the plastic thing or whether it was our subconcious mind creatively pushing it around.

I did a couple of tests with the board. One was taking Uno cards and putting them flat on the table without looking at them and asking what color and number the cards were. It would consistantly tell the color or number of the card but never both.

Another test was during Christmas when I was 16. My sister gave me a ouija board and let me open it early. We took a small box from under the christmas tree and asked the board what was inside. It spelled out "gloves".

When we went and asked our mom if gloves were in the box, she told us that there were.

Other experiences I recall include when were having discussions with "spirits". One that Iremember well was with a young guy named David Jackson who apparently lived in Detroit and was shot to death in the early '90's. A friend and I learned a lot about him and I was set on solving his murder, but Iasked where the man who killed him was and he said he was dead too.

Another time we apparently contacted the spirit of a Viking - although he did not say that, we figured it out through numerous questions. The conversation seemed normal - like something our subconscious minds could have come up with until we asked him where he was now. He spelled out "VALHALLA".

At the time neither of us knew what that meant. Later we looked it up in the encyclopedia and discovered that Valhalla was "heaven" for Vikings. So, my questions are ... has anyone ever heard of someone using the board to predict future events - like the outcomes to sporting events or lottery numbers (just curious)?

And has anyone been affected physically as a result of using the ouija? I ask this because I had some friends who always used the board and one day the both had an unexplainable illness and had to go to the hospital. I have also felt the the board seems to drain energy from me...but not necessarily a physical energy. Its hard to explain...but it's why I stopped using the board.

Anyway, I'm still a skeptic. I don't really believe in ghosts or life after death. My theory on the ouija board is that we subconsciously conjur up stories and somehow push the glass around without knowing it--possibly using some kind of psychic energy (maybe like an aura). I also believe that humans do have some psychic abilities (like a highly advanced form of intuition) and the Ouija board is one way to access them.
