It is this Editor's ultimate
responsibility being at the (top of?) the line of command to approve or veto a story
to go out to our worthy Readers and this entity remembers the story as it
came in that heady (night?).
The Publication had sent an (high quality?) video
team to be at the greeting of the Newby ship found driving in on
sublight on the edge of Trans-Human South. Since the direction is rare
in stellar fires that fact alone made the ship's origin of
interest to the intelligent and high-minded Readers of our
information-intense squirts. In an effort to scoop all of the other
Medias we released an overly optimistic report of the first
contact with the Newbys along with the image of what we
believed to be the first scan of the hethertofor unseen and unmet
Neighbor. It is admitted that the erroneous image was a (guess?) based mostly on the image feed of the Newby entrance; a proceedure only half accomplished when the art deptartment was signalled the video capture (accomplished?, signed-for? accepted?) ref: the sadly mistaken image This One followed the squirts and is aware that our worthy Readers
were as curious as myself about the New Neighbor: what did they
look like?
How did they (move?)?
Were they New Neighbors or just a lost ancient ship from Known
Space of long ago ?
What would they find of value and what would they offer in return -
for surely commerce of some sort would exist in a interstellar
Race ?
In any event our (Art Dept.?) came up with an image that this facet aproved
for packeting ; but we now Publish a Retraction and Update.
Here is the very last (clear?) raw video feed of that meeting where all diplomats and nearly all sentients were terminated. After systematically destoying the Staging (Greeting?) Platform the New Neighbors re-entered their craft which then quite effectively
disassembled itself explosively.
The only evidence besides a growing cloud of shredded debris was a (printout?) reproduced in-part here.
Please contact the Co-Cofederacy Neighbor Relations Organ if you have any knowledge of this type of script.
